No Known Survivors website Viral website for EA's up coming game Dead Space. Not an ARG but it definitely has puzzle elements to it. Sadly you can only play if you register for an EA account.

What I have gotten so far
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1. Corporation ID= CEC
2. Ship ID= Ishimura
3. Marker Contact= 200 years
4. Planetcrack subject= Aegis 7
5. Unitologist mantra= "Altman be praised"
6. Number of phlanges=7
7.Dangerous tool, injured Stanley= Line Cutter
As far as 8 goes, I'm stumped. I think it has to do with the markings on the reports, but I haven't come up with anything so far

I've been trying to figure out the code as well, but no luck so far.

Thank you for posting the image. I wasn't motivated to slog thru the website, but when you plop a cipher in front of me like that, how can i resist?
Transcription:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Treat each
"gene"
thing* like it has a binary state, pointing either up or down, and assign them a value like this:
01000
00111 01101 01010 00011
10110 01101 10011 10000
00111 00000 01100 00011
01000 01100
01011 01000 01100 00100 00011
Method:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Then you can treat it like a Bacon cipher, or just numerically assign A=00000, B=00001, sequentially, combining I/J=01000 and U/V=10011
Solution:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I
HOLD
YOUR
HAND
IN
MINED
I cannot account for typos or meaning.
*p.s.
on www.argn.com they said, "The first puzzle, a severed finger code, is still unsolved, so it's not too late to join in!" -- is that what those things are?

Bless you catherwood! I was hoping one of the experts would stop by.
I was hung up on looking at it as some base-4 encoding (4 states for each 'character') or looking repeated 5-character blocks and trying to guess corresponding letters based on position/frequency. At least I got the 'I' right. Actually, my method wasn't far off from this, just never got anything useful out of WinDecrypto.
Now I just have to wait a few hours until I'm eligible to put in the answer.

The solution as is was not the answer to the question. Not sure if its a riddle or not. The solution was not the password for the monitor or the social interaction report either. I tried fingers, but that did help with the password content.
Yes they are supposed to be severed fingers, no idea why just yet given the what we know about this guy so far. He is an organ replacement technician. It's a horror survival game.

Yes, unless you are supposed to put it in with no spaces between words, it doesn't like that phrase as the answer, even though that is the correct translation.

I have no idea how you guys got the solution to that gene thing, but more of them appear on the patient profiles along the sides of the papers. Any ideas?

More severed fingers, in sets of five? If it is the same code, I could create an image of the substitution alphabet. Was my transcription spoiler above not detailed enough in how we deciphered it?
Keep feeding us screenshots, and I'm sure someone will pitch in with hints.

That's where I got them from - just cut them out and put them together in one image is all.

I believe the next round starts at midnight, so we may have to give up hope on this one. But, if there is another similar one, we're all over it. Worst case we can bug addlepated when it's all over

That leaves:
IHOLDYOURHANDINMINE
I HOLD YOUR HAND IN MIND
I HELD YOUR HAND IN MINE/D
Beatles
(Are these submissions case-sensitive?)
Try: i hold your hand in mined
or even:
i hold your hand in mine.
(maybe that last D is a period?)
