 		[Ivy Set] - #193 Three Thousand Words
No scanner I'm afraid, but it's not really important for this one Wink

Who are the people in these famous photographs?

A. On a cold day, a dashing young couple pause outside a cafe on a busy street to exchange a brief but passionate kiss. The man wears a flamboyant open shirt and coat, while the woman is leaned back slightly, supported by his reassuring arm. Two passers-by studiously ignore them, staring straight ahead.

B. A girl strolls casually towards the net, a wooden tennis racket hanging from her right hand. It's at the end of the day, and as she goes to collect her tennis balls, she uninhibitedly scratches an itch she developed from the match.

C. A man in a thick white suit and backpack is standing on a rocky yet flat terrain. Though it is nighttime, the scene is lit up brilliantly and he casts a sharp shadow toward us. His face is obscured by a perfectly reflective visor, in which we can see the photographer himself. There are two flags in this photo, one on the man's shoulder, and one barely perceptible, only visible in the blankness where his face should be.

B. Fiona Butler - from Tennis Girl by Martin Elliot
C. Buzz Aldrin - taken by Neil Armstrong (allegedly Wink)

Confirmed and my first (and likely last!) top-ten!

 		I realize that the answers are probably under the above spoilers, but does anyone have a hint or two to nudge me in the right direction with A and B without just blurting out the answer? At first glance, I thought that C would be the most difficult, but I think I now know the answer to that (or, at least, have narrowed it down to one of two people, depending on who is holding the camera.) I think I have an answer to B, but A (the one that seemed like it would be the easiest at first glance) is turning out to be more difficult than expected. It seems so familiar, yet... not.

 		Sorry Bri - was quite excited at being in the top 10 and saw that noone had posted it so cracked on. Not sure if I should spoiler the below, but be reassured there are no actual answers in it...

Difficult to hint too much without just giving the answer, but mostly I just worked from the assumption that all the photos were famous especially A, as written on the card. Trying to work out who the model in the photo was for B was the hardest thing I found tbh and C is referring to a very specific photo and it does say which way round it was taken.

 		As the first solver of this card, I wasn't sure what the etiquette was for posting - whether to give the answers or just drop hints (I've seen people bawled out for doing the latter).

Hopefully these hints will be helpful, without giving away too much:

Photo one:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This is not a photo taken in America involving a man in military uniform acting spontaneously, as I first thought. Actually, it's in a far more romantic location, posed by the photographer, and the woman in it recently sold her copy of the photo at auction.


Photo two:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The most striking aspect of this photo - to the male perspective, at least - has been entirely omitted from the description. If you share a computer with your Beloved Other Half, warn her before using Google Images and, if you search at work, clear the cache afterwards! Not that there's anything too dodgy about the pic, there's just a certain bare-faced cheek to it.

 		haha, this is sort of funny, since I can guess where MC got the inspiration for this card. check out http://www.viacom-outdoor.co.uk/copywriting/

sometime last summer when PXC was first starting up, there was a contest for ads in the london underground. look at which one won the contest. you also might notice another recognizeable name in the other entries under the letter "P" Smile

 		It's the 3 of Clubs and there are letter pieces in the top and bottom right corners but they're really faint.

 		For those wanting a gentler hint to get them started, I have one:
Famous photographs tend to get turned into posters. Check online poster catalogs that you can browse by subject. That's how I solved it, despite two of the pictures being completely unfamiliar to me.

 		There are some formatting issues with this one, namely that the woman's name in A contains the letter
