[8-22-2008][TRAILHEAD] Detroit based ARG? [url]

i was at the motor city comic con last weekend, and i got these flyers that said 8222008.com on them. there were two, one with a smiley face underneath, and the other with a bunch of binary on it that i have not had the opportunity to translate yet. i went to the website, and it had some ominous blurb about the upcoming election, and a countdown to the date. then it had a weird code which i thought was hex, but translated to nonsense.

could this be a trailhead? there is nothing about it on google or anything.

It looks kinda ARGish, but i tried a few times for the password and got a scary message about my IP being logged, interesting section from the login source.
Quote:
if (pass1 == "68AFBB09 E14C002D 721EAB22") {
alert('Go no further.');
window.open('denied.html');
break;

Those three hex numbers appear in small type between paragraphs.

the binary from the flyer appears to be gobbledy-gook as well.
here it is anyway.

maybe we need to decode it further from there?

I think the key lies in this:
68AFBB09 E14C002D 721EAB22
Once we figure it out we should have access to whatever is behind the login screen

hex conversion seems to do nothing. i guess we'll have to wait for a while on this one.
