I won't be able to make it as I'm stuck in the South-West too (and, irritatingly, missed the finale because I was in London for the day).
Where in the South West? Maybe we could do our own, simultaneous meet-up?

I'm suffering the ill effects of too much booze at the moment but I had a great time last night, thanks everyone who came - it was nice to talk about some out our favourite (and least favourite) bits from the whole ARG as well.
So nice in fact, I'd like to suggest that everyone posts what they were most happy with or what they thought was the most well done thing in the whole ARG.
I think my favourite thing was Jacques and the kloos we got in the nice presents he gave us

Just dragged myself into work but rather dehydrated post...
In attendance: myself, batgirl, Faustus, Amadeus, AndyAndyO, Chelec and Naomi Alderman.
Photo to follow this evening.
Best bits of WTS (for me): having to do physical things such as go to St Pancras, go to the pub, go to Penguin (not that I did any of them, but that's what an ARG should be about!).
Something to work on: the story seemed a little chaotic - the card game seemed to get forgotten and elements such as the Mayan Twins being thrown in didn't seem to make much sense. Then again, real life is chaotic!

The writing tasks on Contrariwise was a really creative and fun substitute to a puzzle. (Plus, I'm not good at puzzles...) definitely the best part for me, even though I hate the story I put up...

It was good meeting you all last night - and thanks for the present!
For those who are interested in playing something quick, I got notification that the livegamesnetwork is starting another game on Monday. They normally take 2 weeks or so, with a series of tasks to complete using on online interface. I've played the games a few times before and enjoyed it. (http://www.livegamesnetwork.com/) You can also replay one of their previous games to get an idea of what it is like.
Can I ask a cheeky favour? If you're going to sign up, PM me and let me 'invite' you. If there's enough, I get entered in a prize draw
EDIT - mm, it looks like you can't play without a US phone number! So withdraw this

You can always post it here.
I really enjoyed Tuesday evening and it was great to be able to put more names to faces. I just created a facebook group called We Tell Stories 'Survivors' which can also serve as place to talk about future projects people might be interested in.
I'm going to put the puzzle up that I was talking about on Tuesday so there's at least one reason to have a look.

Highlights of WTS

I tend to agree that this was the highlight of this particular ARG - (not necessarily LordIllidian's story BTW!) - the fact that we could write something that might ultimately have some influence on events.
I was quite pleased with my own effort, considering I had to rattle it off pretty quickly after reading 45 pages of UnForum!
Bearing in mind some of my earlier comments, I also think the final Live Blog Event was more of a Big-Bang finish than I was expecting!

Well, might be something to do with my obsessive nature but I loved the endless theorising and the communal aspect of the game. Thinking back I must have had twenty or so theories, but the only one I can now remember is about the hammer which was the one that turned out right! Can't remember the other 19 rubbish theories!

I'm still of the opinion that it would have made more sense for John Dee to (somehow) still be alive in our world and for the other brother to be a "bad angel" , since Dee was famous for communing with angels using the scrying mirror.
I also enjoyed writing the stories, first ones I've written for years, and enjoyed reading everyone else's too.
But top marks for a compulsive, original and compelling experience!

Well done all Well done everyone! I've just reemerged from furtive lurking mode after work and small baby hijacked the last few weeks.
I'm a bit dissapointed that we're not going to do a ninja-style attack on the British Museum (oh go on...) and bemused, as many, by the mayan twist, but otherwise it's been great just to sit and watch all your sterling work from a distance.
Did Naomi reveal any interesting tidbits (eg how thick we were about A, how we outsmarted them on B, whether Penguin want to do more etc.)?
Cheers all,
jb.
PS. I'm finally in London on 25th, so might do a pilgramage of the various locations, a little after the fact. Wonder if the St. Pancras number still works?...

Curiously enough I had a couple of hours free this morning before I got the train home from London so I did a similar thing of looking at some old ground. Popped by the British Museum and found the mirror. Apparently it's an Aztec cult object from roughly the same part of the world as the Mayan civilisation many years earlier. It's a tenuous link but I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt on that one.
I also finally got to do the St Pancras thing and I'm pleased to tell you that the number still works. It's also very eerie and very enjoyable.
