[48][Reference] Arkham X.
The muscle.

Arkham X.; The muscle.

    Brody's right hand man.
Security on site, used to be the camera man.
    Doesn't get along with Bigeviljack666.
    Strange e-mail = eye[at]doubt.it.
Animalistic or demonic `` eye `` icon on 48-hours.net.
Brody had a dream of him burying a "large, scruffy man" outside Location One.
Escorted `` Whore `` during filming.
Lives in both Brody's / Spirit's reality and ours.
Puzzle pieces seem to be his calling card.
Contacted through e-mail and Brody's cell.
    Sentinel Standing Is Arkham.

Ronnie's journal entry about the tension with Ark led me to review the scanty known information about him. This photo dramatizes her comment by showing him in a defensive stance looking sidelong at her with his head forward. Does anyone have any thoughts about why we know so little about him?

a little etymology

Arkham is also the name of a Lovecraftian city, and a comic-book insane asylum. This, combined with his demonic avatar eyes and his occasionally aggressive actions in the videos, make him seem rather threatening to me.

But didn't TM say that there weren't 'bad guy' characters or 'good guy' characters? If Arkham really isn't a bad guy, who is giving him the 'bad guy' eyes and name? Brody? And if it's Brody, is it because of Ark and Ronnie, like has been discussed? Or because of Malice? I feel like we ALMOST have something figured out here but we haven't explicitly and tacitly stated it.

Brody has stated Arkham is not scary, when you know him. However, he has a menacing presence if you're weak willed and see a muscular guy working security. He's meant to be a badass, thus they have to market him as one. Get me?

In other words, he's like Icarus.

My take on TM's comment is that we're to live this story as it unfolds and as we participate in it and, yes, see a picture beyond good/evil classifications of individual characters.

Since we're supposed to keep timeline in mind, I wanted to mention that Brody blogged about his previous night's dream of Arkham burying someone alive on Oct. 3rd. Later that day he said he needed more painkillers. In early Dec., when he was trying to piece things together, he said he was "...a little delusional" at that time.
