As I understand it, used in that context it refers to hacking into the file structure of the server machine in which pushtimes.com is hosted, specifically to the file structure containing the files that compose pushtimes.com.
The brute force approach would be to try user/password combinations until you found the right one. So that would mean trying lots of times, like trying to open something by hitting it, hence the name.
I believe "brute force" was used as a general term for "hacking" because, generally speaking, it is the slowest way of breaking into a system in contrast to other vulnerabilities the server might have.

I'm not any kind of security expert so please add your comments and corrections

new here so nice to begin with positive contribution, even if only slight extension of GunslingerGulp's:

brute force is a general approach to problem solving where the target problem has a definite space. all you do is try every possible solution until you run into the right one.

such an approach is pretty much limited to computer oriented problems, where you can write a program to systematically try every possibility. works with username/password combinations as means of hacking server. BUT ...

as its trivial and shows no real sk1llz tis generally avoided by any self respecting hax0r

Rolerbe sent you all to a more thorough thread. Brute force by hand - manually trying solutions from a universe of possibilities (particularly where you have narrowed the universe through other means but that's just polite) - is a normal, if mundane, way of puzzle solving. The reason for periodic discussions of the topic here is the type of brute forcing that burdens the game - dictionary scripts running against password boxes for example - that sucks up bandwidth and adds costs to the game without corresponding benefit. It is generally accepted that is unacceptable.
