Picture at Paintover.net

No one's posted about this site, yet.
Diandra notes that the name anagrams to "Tavern.Pointe" - which is at the bottom.

The picture clearly has a second image in it. Some contend that it's a skeleton. It doesn't appear that way to me. Here it is with the prominent image removed.

If it's contended to be a skeleton, then it can't be a real one. Possibly a blow up or doll one. But even that's stretching it.

And no, I don't have a better idea of what it is...

Its a white rabbit (possibly a ghost of a white rabbit) one eye and the nose is by the girls head, arm is sticking out the left side of the pic....some body part the right side. Its a skanky looking rabbit, but a rabbit nontheless. Thats my observation atleast....

aside: It's almost easier to see it with the little girl still in the pic...

EDIT: side note, again, Think of the rabbit in the game American McGee's Alice....the psycho one...that was the first think I thought of. Oh yeah, and the ear is sticking out to the top left...forgot that one....

The image in the background reminds me of the lattice which is seen to the left of the page, particularly the wheels.

I tried to manipulate the image with the girl in photoshop and place it on top of the lattice to see if it fits (ie, paint it over the original images, I think there is more significance in that name than has been touched on yet, especially since we see it later in an anagram) but I was unable to get any meaningful results.

Okay I can see the rabbit in the background for sure.. and we have the quote from alice in wonderland.. there's nothing else on the entire site.. so could this be the next puzzle and we need to find a way into the rabbithole?

The name of the picture is Eye See... the girls eyes are looking at the part of the message that says S TO LE .. or STOLE

STOLE or STOL? The first person to decode the Wingdings suggested that STOL were the highlighted letters, but I also wonder if the 'E' is supposed to be included.... How about this: If it is a skeleton behind her, and we're supposed to paint over something, could it have anything to do with taking these four (five) letters out of "skeleton" - ? i.e., painting them over?

"skeleton" - "stol" = "keen" / "knee"

"skeleton" - "stole" = "ken" / "kne" / "enk"

I dunno, just hoping to start jump-start some thinking.

Here is my interpretation of the painted over region of the paintover.net picture. Took me a while to see the picture this way, but I am now convinced that it is in fact a skeleton.

IC
could be construed as roman numerals for 99.

Maybe it's an homage to that great Toto song?

I agree - it reminds me of the scene on the roof in The Matrix:

If you click the permalink (i.e., the time under the picture) you get an error message saying the archive can't be found, but it also lets you see the part of the background that's covered up by the picture. There's something floating over the horizon -- can anyone tell what it is?

Looking at the colored portion, lightening the picture reveals what looks to me like a cat:

Also, the link below the picture (02:51AM) goes to a missing page: http://www.paintover.net/_cpy/archives/cat_.html#000010

Making me suspect that this may possibly be linked with the floating cat.

edit: Looking at the background pic, this is what is behind the frame:
