a few things:
1. yes it's obvious arsenal is referring to the football - i mean, what else? let's not forget jon's a londoner too.
3. there are 2 eilean mor in scotland
- the one that's been mentioned already with the flannan isles lighthouse and all that.
- another one just off islay ( http://www.islay.com/sites/finlaggan_engl.htm )
it's more likely jon visited the latter as a kid, as it is nowhere as remote as the former - however it hasn't got as good a story as the lighthouse one.

Yep that sounds about right, the first island of Eilean Mor is situated 20 miles of the coast of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, very remote indeed, it is part of a cluster of 20 or so islands called the Flannan Islands.
The second is indeed in the Isle of Islay in a loch called Loch Finlaggan situated off the coast of Mainland Scotland near the Isle of Jura.
The loch has had an important role in Scottish history, for it is here that the MacDonald family, elected Lords of the Isles, established a Gaelic kingdom effectively independent from English rule in the thirteenth century A.D. Loch Finlaggan became the administrative centre of the Western Isles, where the Lords would hold council in a large hall situated on Eilean Mór, the largest of two islets at the Northern end of the loch.
On Eilean Mor are the surviving walls of the official residence of the Macdonalds, their family burial ground and the remains of their castle.
What all this has to do with Jon I'm not sure.

And (surprise, surprise) half of that information came from either the forums or the wiki we created. It's not like that stuff was there before we got the number.
