OK, so both KyraB and I drove from Wisconsin down to Aurora to pick up the wand. I figured it would take me about three hours to get there so I was planning on leaving around 11 so I could get there before 3 o'clock. I was ready to leave at 11 and had all my things packed. I went to my hook where I keep my keys and they weren't there! I always keep them on that hook. This was the same thing that happened to jill so I thought at first my husband was playing a joke on me. He wasn't. They were no where to be found. Finally, I get a call from my mother-in-law who had taken the baby to her house that morning to babysit. Somehow the keys had attached themselves to the diaper bag and were at her house. So my husband had to drive me all the way over there and then back home so I didn't leave until noon, which would give me just enough time to get there if I hit no traffic in Milwaukee or Chicago.

Well, after alot of speeding and nervous checking of maps I made it to the park. I still hadn't received the phone call from Jill or her friends telling me who I was supposed to meet. I called Ormus and they had been calling him for some reason. So he relayed the messages to me and I waited. KyraB was have a little trouble finding the place too (when am I going to learn that directions I find on the internet are never right???). I saw some guy dressed in black with long black hair waiting
in his car, watching me. It sorta creeped me out the way he kept staring. I wondered if he was gonna try to take the wand?!?!

I saw Jill's friend pull up in her silver BMW SUV. She was looking around for us. Since KyraB wasn't there yet, I waited and just watched her for a bit.

When KyraB got there we went up to her and she asked if we were the ones looking for the wand. We said yes and she pulled the wand out of her purse. It was wrapped in black cloth and secured with a single pin. It was alot smaller than it seemed in the pictures. We talked a bit with Jill's friend (I forgot her name already). She asked how far we had driven and commented on how the wand must be very important to us. We took some pictures with her. She said that Jill had warned her that we were really into this and might take photos Smile

When she left we put the cloth down on the grass, took some pictures and opened it up to look at the wand. I think it was made from Fimo clay http://www.eberhardfaber.de/ Thats what stuff those clay bead necklaces you can get at fairs is sometimes made of. After a little research on google I found out that its common to make ritual wands and such from FIMO since its easy to use, cheap and looks nice if you do it
right.

We flipped a coin to see who would take home the wand. (we'll tell you later who won) We chatted for a bit about CTW and other games and both went on our way. KyraB had to get home since it was her anniversary and I was on my way down to Indiana (which I never made it to and ended up getting home in WI at 9pm, but thats a whole other story...)

There were no signs of any DEGs or anyone else. I sorta wish there were. The scariest part of the whole thing was using the park restroom which had no light and no lock on the door.

I will have pictures tonite. Suddenly the AC adapter to my scanner is missing. Unplugged and gone. So I took the pictures to Walgreens to get developed and am getting one of those photo cds so I can upload them here.

Alot of my stuff has been turning up missing lately. My keys, the AC adapter... Sorta creepy. I'm keeping my eye out for DEGs! Shocked
