I'm certain that this must be posted elsewhere, but it's a site worth rereading if you are trying to crack Trithemius' cipher. It's about the men who did it, and how they did it.

Trithemius' alphabet is missing "j," "k," "u" and "y." It includes "th" from the Greek theta, "sch" from Hebrew and "tz" from who knows where, Ernst said.
