Remember "Spooks"?

Remember the show/arg from last year? The show is going to air in the US finally.

From The Futon Critic.
MI-5 (A&E, New!) - The cable channel has scheduled its co-production with the BBC, a new drama about the undercover world of the British Security Service MI-5. The series, which ran under the title "Spooks" in the United Kingdom, will begin with a re-edited, two-episode TV movie on Tuesday, July 22 at 10:00/9:00c, followed by a weekly run of 14 episodes. Matthew Macfadyen ("Almost Strangers"), Keeley Hawes ("Tipping The Velvet"), David Oyelowo ("A Sound of Thunder"), Peter Firth ("Amistad," "Hunt For Red October") and Jenny Agutter ("A Respectable Trade") topline the drama. Both seasons of the British series will run as part of the stateside "first season."

Could I get More info on MI-5

Sheese I finally found it and where I am at it came on at like midnight so I missed part of it. Can anyone give me a little background on it and what the object of it is as far as ARGs are concerned?

I thought I read somewhere that Anthony Stewart Head (of "Buffy") shows up in a recurring role later on, maybe a 2nd or 3rd season?

And this has nothing to do with ARGs, it's just our common interest in quality television.

spooks arg

If memory serves, it did have an "Alias" type ARG attached to it with web sites and such when it first aired in the UK. This may have been pre-unfiction. Possibly there is still mention of it on the ARGN archives.

I have very little information available but for what it's worth, here's the Unfiction page I set up with links to resources. There was indeed an ARGN forum for it. The online game portion apparently concluded on June 18, 2002, and the first we heard about it was in May, so it didn't last that long at all, unfortunately.

And if you, like I, missed it even though YOU WERE HOME AND IN FRONT OF THE TV AND WONDERING WHY NOTHING WAS ON AND STILL MISSED IT (/me kicks self) . . . It will be shown again Saturday at 11 and again right afterwards.

MI-5

I was lucky enough to catch it. Tape it and watch it again to catch the very quick dialogue. It's outstanding. Makes me wish we'd get the whole hour instead of the 44 minutes it's pared down to. The stuff about the cat was a screech. I like the dynamics between the characters. So well done, thanks to A&E. And it did well in the ratings too which bodes well.
