Might as well follow up with them and let us know what you find. Here's hoping it's the start of something!

How about an SMS as a possible trailhead?

My background:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm an old fan of ARGs and haven't really been involved with any for a few years (hence the new account). But I got a new phone and began getting into Ingress recently, though aside from trying one old passcode a day or two ago there's no reason I should even be viewed as involved with anything of the sort. But my number wasn't out there asking for this sorta thing anymore...

Back to the point, I just got this text (see attachment)
I tried calling it from my normal phone number and didn't even get rings before it ended, so I tried with Google Voice, after waiting forever I finally got a machine answering apologize that "all circuits are busy now" and giving me a code.

I've never come across this before... Anyone know what it's about?

1. never ever call back an unknown number - most are spoofed spam calls. I never answer them but use google or ignore them. if its legit they will leave a real live person message (not robotic message).
2. google the number; this area code is san bernadino, california, or India
3. however, if you haven't been active in a prior game, doubtful you will be a contact out of the blue. even though I know that old-school ARG PMs have my contact number, if I got this I wouldn't think it looks like an ARG rabbit hole, just a spammer using this phone number (spoofing) to make outgoing spam messages, be thankful you didn't end up calling India.

I did Google it, and didn't find much of anything beyond it being from California.
I would normally expect it to be spam but why would spam look like that? It looks like something more than just spam to me.
