Sum up Clear Lakes 44 as best as you can.

If you haven't read or heard about what is going on with THAC, I highly suggest you look into that before reading this. But if you don't know and rather not look into it, I'll just give you a short summary: Troy made bad decisions as head of his company, and mucked up his friendships. Tim and Joseph left THAC on their own volition, and then Troy, in essence, fired Noah. So now that THAC is down to one man, the current videos of Clear Lakes 44 is, within a few weeks, to be pulled from the Marble Hornets channel, and be posted on a different channel, while a reboot series will take its place...somewhere in the near future, thus meaning this series that we have been currently watching has been canceled. But that doesn't mean we can't speculate on what was going on in these current videos. The only things that sucks is that we only got 13 of these videos, and they amount to 26 to 27 minutes in length. But why not give it a shot, right? Everyone can post their theories in reply to this and share or argue with each other, whichever makes the other feel comfortable.

"A bunch of disconnected events happen with characters we know little about and do not care about, with haphazard horror elements strewn around because apparently using tropes from Marble Hornets will create a successful and high quality web series."
But that's just my opinion. Ask Troy.

Clear Lakes 44 is like hooking up with your ex for the first time after being broken up for 2 years, the last you remember the sex was amazing, but something is different this time and you don't know why.

I am a little curious as to what the hell the story of CL44 was, and what it was building up to if anything. Who was the weird black and whte dot-eyed thing, why were the cameras moving in ways they shouldn't, who was the guy in Broadcast 11, etc.

Seeing monsters attack people with heavy video effects and hooded guys run around in CL44 was a bit like seeing Yoda pull out a lightsaber and start jumping around in the star wars prequels. The old elements that had come to represent something that worked really well.... not used right.

All right, I'm going to give it a go:

More than six months ago (whenever these events take place), Noah (pre-birdwatcher) was an investigative reporter for a television broadcasting company, and was part of a now-ongoing investigation that involved Walker. This confrontation with Walker ended with a limp on Noah's leg and Noah becoming an agoraphobic. He needs to regularly see a psychiatrist and have someone bring stuff to his house; probably has a Sam's Club near him that delivers groceries for him or something. He also probably hears a woman's voice in his head, probably an ex-girlfriend or reporter partner, that he can't be around anymore.

What Noah doesn't know is that a television broadcasting company near his house has been keeping a close eye on him and his surrounding area, Walker (as well as the glowing eyed figure in Broadcast #6) are designed/created by the company, and his psychiatrist was sent by the company to "check in" on him. The psychiatrist (who might be the old man in the rocking chair from Broadcast #2) is sent by the company to look after him, keep him in check. They're filming to test Walker out, as well as see what effects Walker and the other thing have on Noah. They're also filming because this involves Tim as well, who's either selling or pawning unknown stuff that is within the company's interest.

Currently now, Noah has taken up bird-watching and literature recommended by his doctor, and seems to be okay when he is attacked by a mysterious figure with yellowing glowing eyes. He wakes up and calls his doctor, and walks into a different room in his house when all of a sudden his leg feels better, he hears voices and he collapses. His doctor comes and gives him a pill that fights Walker off.

Meanwhile, Walker steals a canned food item in an attempt for the company to test out their new sentient cameras. Walker breaks/teleports into a man's house and winds up killing him. Later that night, he stumbles across Noah, and tries to attack him, but the pill fights him off, and Walker teleports out of the house through a closet. The company, specifically the psychiatrist, break the fourth wall and question the audience why we're watching and decide to kill Noah off because of our supposed enjoyment of his suffer. The final Broadcast shows that the woman Noah hears voices about, gives him a call and tells him through voicemail that she's going to be working at the company near his house soon, and tells him to hang in there on the investigation, probably restarting the same cycle Noah went through.

Some unseen force, possibly local government, was spying on its citizens with drones and cameras all over the place, and they picked up the weird paranormal shit happening to Birdwatcher and started focusing exclusively on him.

See if this idea has been communicated effectively, it would be such a cool series.

The absolute biggest mistake they made was not including any sort of prologue or narration. MH had "Introduction" to get us familiar with the premise, and we had somebody explaining all the weird bullshit that happened. If it had just started at Entry #1 and had no text commentary from Jay, we'd have literally no context and everything would be confusing.

The Star Wars prequels are actually a really good way to sum up CL44 as a whole. Not as good as the original.

@Ataxis Okay, looks like the reboot of CL44 will start soon, I guess. Then again, the first few tweets for the original CL44 started in February, and the first video didn't start until 6 months later in August.

This is really good.
