the best fit i could find is a Silver Star medal from WW2. See the circled 5 Star in the middle and it looks like there are some Leafs around it. The medal of Honor doesnt have the Star in the middle and the Bronze Star has no circled Star.

But i think this Passwords were tested!

Just checking but was the password also tested with the Croix de Guerre? There was a mention of a David Stambler who received the medal but it could just be a coincidence.

That's a coincidence & has been discussed on reddit. That David Stambler served in WWI and is probably too old to be Howard's father. It's most likely that Howard's father would have served in WWII.

Regardless the Croix de Guerre has been tried - though the phrasing would allow many options (Granddad's Croix de Guerre, Grandpa's Croix de Guerre, the Croix de Guerre got in WWII, and so on.)
