[PUZZLE] Game image analysis
Plenty of fun and pretty pictures. Are they kloos?

When I bring up Howard's pic, there's a few frames of static that are clearly part of the image.

Every time I refresh the site, it looks like the image is pixelated, then not. True for everyone? Why would that be - especially if it's a low data black and white photo.

And, his colleagues are much smaller images.

I think the general thinking is that this most likely an accidental byproduct of how the PNG file with Howard's picture was created and then is loaded in by certain browsers. i.e., not significant (and it happens for me, too)

Somewhere earlier in the long mega thread there are pages of discussion of all the Tagruato employee images, but in general, that didn't really lead to anything.

I don't get the static in Chrome or Safari, but a while back, I took the video of static and played with it in Photoshop. I adjusted things, overlayed all of the static images on top of each other, and tried anything else I could think of. I didn't get anything that looked promising. No stereograms, outlines, possible letters, or anything.

I'm definitely open to the possibility, but I'm tempted to think that it doesn't mean anything. As for the images themselves beings larger, I looked at all of the data and found nothing in the image code, so I'm just guessing that the web designer brought in all of the other staff pics at one time (as we know, from stock image sites), and then inserted the JG one later, not bothering to resize it to match. That would explain the difference in file format, too.

Although I guess that doesn't explain why there is also an unused jpg of him on the server, but no pngs of the rest of the staff. Hmm. Now I've confused myself!

FWIW - I only get the static in Chrome or Safari the first time I view the images. Unless I clear cache, refreshes don't show the static. And even then, it depends how quickly the image loads.

One of the folks at reddit managed to capture one of the two or three images that happen.

We've all seen things that were pixelated, then resolved to normalcy. This is an awkward, stepwise change with distinct images.

Also, I don't get this when I open the downloaded image on my Mac. Only when I use the web page refresh.

Lastly, if TINAG, then what would be the point of someone doing this? Of course, he could've submitted the photo himself to give a message to folks who were smart enough. The natural assumption, though, is that the company took a pic of the reluctant award winner - but it's certainly not the company stock photo for adverts.

Oh, it's a magic eye puzzle with GPS coordinates! Just keep staring at it with crossed eyes and it'll happen. Trust me.

The image shows that static because it's a grayscale PNG saved with Interlacing profile, which is supposed to load the whole frame of the picture first, then each horizontal tile until it's fully loaded. If the image was a .jpg, you wouldn't see the effect and the picture would also be considerably smaller... Whoever edit it in Photoshop forgot to export it to a more web-friendly format.
