I'm Nos. *waves* Been lurking forever. Marrec is my brother, he introduced me to the genre. I love to watch, hence the tags. Not really fast enough to actually solve things, though I came pretty close with LCP. Which, I might add, was the first arg I fully participated in, and didn't just watch. So of course now I am hooked and waiting for another to come out that will be just as 'stupid girl' friendly.
Heh.

Abraxas
I just noticed this while looking for something and since I didn't introduce myself yet...here goes:
I'm Abraxas - or Brax for short, as people use to call me on the Unofficial Lost Board -, I'm a 23 years old male from Germany and I came to ARGs because of a recommendation I received from a member of the Just Adventure + community.
I'm a long-time member there - Elfstone - because of my - then new-found - love for adventure games and found the thread about ARGs through coincidence (I frequent the site much less than some years ago and usually those threads disappear on the second page after just a day or two).
I checked out ARGN and started to look at Perplex City, then someone else said that UF is the place to go so I checked it out. By that time I was already hopelessly hooked. No way to get out again. I participated in Ehsan's Soogees2 puzzle trail. A couple of others followed. In the meantime I read the MU guide (still not completely done with the aftermath, I put it on hold for now).
I guess you can say that VaporLofts was my first ARG. But then came LCP and I love that one, although I'm somewhat behind-the-scenes and mostly just enjoying the story.
I think I may have tried to get into too many wouldbe-ARGs - however, I didn't try to tackle the beast that PXC seems to be - at once...stayed up late a lot, didn't work for my tasks (I'm a CS major) as much as I should have...
I'm on a drug called ARGs right now. You could say that.

Sporky
I should have probably got round to this earlier, but hey.
I'm Sporky. I'm a laydee (yeah i get confusion on that one a lot online, best clear it up now). Just got into ARGs, mostly just lurking at the moment.
Found a link to this place in Edge magazine and was pretty intrigued.
Random personal information: I'm 18, study Media Moving Image and Photography at college, I drive a blue car. RPGs are my favourite genre of games and I probably drink too much.
Hurrah!

kyameel
Hi everyone.
I'm Kyameel. And I've recently stumbled into the ARG business (like 3 days ago). It started with Triskabiblios, then I saw Falling In Time (which I am able to follow since it just started).
I can only be a watcher. But I'll try to help with what I can. So far ARG has got me intrigued and would definitely would like to join. (Not counting IRL situations as I live in the Philippines ^^; )
As an ARG newbie, by following both games, I think I'm following quite well with how you guys solve and deal with games. ^^
And I know this'll be a lot of fun.

Well,
I've on-and-off tracked the progress of ARGs for perhaps two or so years by now, after finding the ARGN site during a lunchbreak at work. Though missed the first big one (the one that was the promo for A.I. -- the Beast or something, I think it was...), but decided eventually that I wanted in on the future games. This was especially appealing since ARGs, most of the time, lack the more noticeable presence of, say, playing Windows solitaire during work.
Anyway, I've taken the plunge and have decided to actually get involved for once. With any luck, I'll be able to juggle both my responsibilities and the games that I'll be playing along with the rest of the ARG community. It's not as if I'm any smart though, so I don't suspect time consumption to be much of a problem (famous last words...); I tend to get lost a lot, and most of the puzzles for many of the current ARGs look to be beyond my comprehension (which I suppose is natural for someone who enjoys full-contact combat sports, but I digress... ).
In any case, "hello, all." Hope this turns out fun!

Well Im Sno or lilmgil. We hadnt had a computer very long at all when I found this place and this was the first board I ever posted to that I wasnt flamed ( Thanks SpaceBass )I first wandered in here after either Push NV or Noah B. fell apart and have spent a bit of time lurking about almost everyday since. IRL I talk WAY too much (Although you certainly cant tell by my post count) and I often cant shut up even when I know I should. Combine this appalling bluntness with a penchant for obnoxiously bad puns and often it adds up to my being taken completly wrong by someone I am having a conversation with. As often as this has happened with people face to face I am afraid Ill be misunderstood even more easily by posting so I keep a low profile. I cant risk yall runnin me off! Besides you people are brilliant and Im just a little woodhippy. Thank you so much for all I have learned just sitting back and taking it all in. For awhile I was determined not to become interested in another ARG ever ( because every one I played along fell apart!) but even then there were those groovy snowflakes so I still had to come by the site. OMG if it werent for UF I wouldnt have my 5 digit ID at KoL!! It means alot to me knowin I can come here and find some new & shiny ideas almost at anytime.....So thats enough for you folks to get an idea of what I think of you. I'll tell you about me some other time. Ive rattled enough for now.......Yay! they always promiced us jetpacks!

Hey, I'm Doug. I remember hearing about the original Majestic ARG way back when, and the AI one too, but I didn't really check these out until recently. They sound really fun, but I'm kind of intimidated and don't know where to start.

Hi Munt! Welcome to Unfiction.
The only large-scale corporate game running at the moment is Perplex City, but that doesn't mean something new won't be starting up soon (something should be coming along from 4orty2wo, the creators of Ilovebees and the Beast, two of the most popular corporate ARGs, in the not too distant future).
However, you're here just in time to still get in pretty much at the beginning of Orbital Colony, which looks like a large-scale, well-done grassroots ARG.
I'm not sure where in its run Omnifam, an Alias-based grassroots game, is; it appears to have been running since early January, so it may be near to concluding. However, I'm not the person to ask about it.
LegionPharma is another grassroots game which seems to be reasonably popular, but about which I know very little, including where it is in its run (if I had to estimate, I'd guess it's past the midpoint, but this is just a guess).
Finally, there is Zoe's World, another grassroots game which seems to be played primarily through emails, blogs, websites, chat and Flickr.
If I had to recommend a game, I'd suggest Orbital Colony. Grassroots games can vary in quality depending on the experience level of the PMs and other factors, and have been known to shut down in the middle. It's been in production for quite a while, which suggests that it's pretty thorougly thought-out and well-planned. In addition, it had a launch at ARGFest 2005 that impressed a lot of experienced ARGers, so it looks like a good bet.
If none of these particularly strike your fancy, keep an eye on the News and Rumors section, as something new is bound to come along soon.
Best wishes for a thrilling first ARG experience!

Um, yes. I'm new "here". I've been lurking around for a while, probably since around the start of Art of the Heist. This place seems nice.

Hahahaha...but that's because you were on the PLAYER side of that one, and not the EEVUL GEENYUS side of it. Or something.
Seriously...we were all haunted by that one.

Whenever I wake up from a nightmare, I see where.gif spinning in front of my eyes, a la Vertigo. I do, I'm not making this up.
