And I just want to make sure I didn't miss anything...do we know what the point of the keys are yet? I don't need 15 packs of gum...so I'm just wondering if we get something significant out of having the keys.

I'll find my own gum, because i don't use pay pal. Unless someone wants to just give me a code.

Here's what I found:
Target, the 3 pack multipacks (which makes it less than $1 per pack, as the multi's are <$3) of Cobalt Limited Edition with Expiration dates of 29Aug12.
EVERY pack has an icefly outside and code inside (all 21 of them).
You can't actually SEE the icefly without opening the multipack because the back packaging isn't see through..it's black.
But I just picked up 7 multi-packs as described above. Every pack in the multi's has a fly outside and code inside.

technically you dont need to buy anything, someone else probably will have to for another clue (its kinda a loophole) >_> right?
also you are already and have been playing so no moneys not required to play ;p
and your already playing, so no money isnt required to play ;p, it might help you along tho
Got it. That makes perfect sense. This is more like buying Zynga dollars or going to the player store in free to play games. It gets you ahead faster but it's not required. Thanks Beezlbub!

Isn't there some rule that companies have to provide an option to play without purchasing: "No Purchase Required"
Or is that only if there is a monetary prize associated with it?
Just curious.
I know that with game like Monopoly at McDonald's, etc. there is an option to send in for game pieces without purchase.

I have no intention of buying chewing gum packs as only manner to retrieve a clue of an ARG, I don't see any "intellectual challenge" in it.
Said this, I recommend everyone of you to start posting in an organized manner all the valid codes you come across, once you have entered them.
If the system they used is weak, maybe new valid sequences can be enumerated and guessed.
Edit: Thinking twice about it, it's not purely the fact of "paying for a clue". It's the fact that only those with physical access to the product will actually be able to take advantage of these codes.
It's discriminatory, and very different to the "recover the icefly" idea, in which only a bunch of guys got the honor of participating physically to the hunt, in behalf of the whole community.
So yea, document your codes, and lets crack their algorithm..

I'm going to get more packs tomorrow since it appears that the flavors don't matter - the codes are all that count. If anyone wants me to get them some for just the codes (shipping may be a hassle) PM me and we'll work out the details. There were at least 30 packets at one store so I'll fill any requests in the order they are received. They were priced at $1.27 each + 2% tax. As above, I'll send you a picture of the boxes with the codes for proof. If I get a lot of requests I'll check some other stores around here. If one of them has them I'm sure others will too.
I don't want to make any money off this - just provide a means for people that may not have access to this gum to participate in the game too.

The ones with codes or the gum? I was at walmart and target today for two hours and didn't find any with codes.

I'd be up for buying 10 packs for 10 codes =) I'd pay first of course.

Here in Vegas the only ones I found were at a Texaco and Target.
If your code has what looks like an "i" in it, it's actually a 1.

Same here. I'm hoping they're not going to be as hard to find as they are right now.
I've got 2 friends on the lookout, one of them part of HPP too, so if we end up with extra codes, I'm pretty sure we'll be willing to share them too.
