But then if you look at the comic synopsis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashpoint_(comics) the comic has a lot to do with Batman, or rather an alternate reality Batman.

I'm having a strong sense of "I hope I'm not seeing this just because I want to."

by "flashpoint", i think he's referring to a story arc that just started in DC comics's comic books, revolving mostly around the superhero the flash. comic books usually have advertisements scattered throughout them.

if this was batman related, it would be possible since he is a DC comics character as well.

WRB (REAL STEEL) is probably keeping 42E busy enough. I wouldn't count the latest thread for The Dark Knight Rises, as it is more likely just a simple viral campaign hosted by the movie producers, not a 42E ARG (imho).
