Okay. Where do I sign? And I'd better not need to do it in blood like you made me sign the last one. I hate poking my fingers

Me, planning on it, hopefully finances will be in place so I can get there one way or another.
A lot depends on what the financial situation looks like closer to the actual date. Did some preliminary price shopping on plane tix, flying from West Palm Beach to Seattle is about $430 -$460 (US) currently, about $100 cheaper than flying in to Vancouver. Do we want to coordinate arrivals in Seattle and so we can share rides etc?

Actually BC is pretty much a nonsmoking place. It is illegal to smoke in public places. Some hotels still allow it and bars and clubs that have special smoking rooms allow it only in there. I got in trouble a couple years ago for smoking in a parkaid in Van. The are health nuts there.
Anyways, I am so excited about it coming to Van. I am definetly going to try to be there. Which is quite possible as my grant money comes in in June. And Van is only 4-5 hours away so I could take the bus.
Talk to ya all later.

I was really asking if it was ok or not. I was just letting possible roommates for Vancouver that I am a smoker. What I choose to do to myself is noones concern but my own. I just know that there are some that don't smoke so it would be silly to plan on rooming with them. I really didn't mean to start a debate over smoking or not smoking. Let's just forget the whole thing! |
I wouldn't worry too much about cigarettes. BC in general and Vancouver in particular smoke a helluva lot more than just cigarettes...

I was thinking, if we got a suite or four... Something that had several bedrooms attached to a larger living space, it would not matter so much on the smoking issue for one, co-ed accomodations for another and we would have some place to gather once the attrations kick us out of the park, then out of the parking lots. (I still can't believe that Disney kicked us off the sidewalk at downtown disney) |
that sounds kewl

Uh...that doesn't follow.
It doesn't mean that it's OK, it's just prevalent.
It's easy to slip from one idea to another a la George Bush contending that the attack on Iraq was terrorist/911 driven - when the terrorists were actually Saudis and Egyptian - but I'd rather we didn't get into the habit of simply ignoring logic.
Unless I need to in order to prove a point.

date?
Are the dates in July confirmed yet? I think that I might be able to go if I can book a flight early, while the rates are still reasonable, and if I might suggest this, a female roommate might not be a bad idea either. One thing though, I smoke cigarettes, almost constantly!

Are you telling us that your college alumni are more important than we are? OK We get the hint Dmax. |
Actually, I'm not even an alumnus. It's just a great place to spend a week not watching the kids. Another option: bringing them to ARGfest and having someone else watch them.
I take that back. It's not really an option. <shudder>
