Questions and more questions
Unless we didn't fail...
So we used the Algorithm to attain Juvenescence, or whatever. We chose love over fear and peace over conflict.
::heart hug::
SO WHY, THEN, IS THE INSTITUTE STILL CLOSING?
(as I presume it still is)
Major gap in the storyline.

Loved the recap Northern85.
I really wish I lived in SF now. I can't believe you just stumbled into the whole thing. You have some awesome friends.

Missed it
Thanks for posting feedback on what happened at the seminar! I only just heard about the Jejune project on Friday, and rushed through it all at the weekend, only to find that I was approximately 2 years behind everyone else
But if any of you want to reminisce on the golden days, I wrote about the project:

See you at the next Nonchalance ARG..

did i just lose?
I feel like we lost! I mean, Coleman just walked out and we did nothing about it. The hints were plenty that the time was coming for us to shift from receiving the story to creating our own . . . but I didn't expect it to fall apart like that. I expected to be led to overcome false nonchalance. But I was hypnotized, stunned, and I would've had to do it on my own. Too late. Game over. I lose?
But the loose ends leave room for more stories. And there's plenty of hidden spaces, lunatics, and magic left around here if we want to tell them. I do - let's play...
(And as many others have said, we've won a kind of community out of this, a fragile one but with a shitload of promise if you ask me.)

That's just my interpretation of Act IV: that we passed through to Elsewhere and back again, and as such there was no difference between us and Eva, therefore no separation between our contributions and her creative/divine fire. In collaborating with each other and sharing it with at least one member of the Hollowheads, the message I got was "good. you got this far. Now you have a responsibility to carry the message the way we did."
I took it to heart.
I didn't get that feeling from the Seminar. That felt more like a sweaty inappropriate hug rather than a meeting of the minds.

I think they did themselves a major disservice by getting us all pumped up for a revolt through all those nfltr8 emails, the last dispatch from elsewhere, and the subversion at the pre-screening and then simply not delivering some sort of appearance by the EPWA even if it wasn't a full on revolt. Hell even if the EPWA came to tell us that they, in fact, have made peace with Coleman and maybe have Eva come out and have a similar speech that Coleman gave I'd feel a LOT better about it even if it was as equally evasive of a lot of the questions still left unanswered. But at the end, when Coleman had left and even after we had all applauded, people were still wondering if that was it and WHY that was it. There was clearly something that just didn't happen and I think it kept a number of people from truly absorbing the message.

Maybe there's no other way for me to take the whole seminar than whole-hearted graciousness, but I think this ending begs us to do one singular thing.
Transcend to your Elsewhere. Make your own story for other squadronites and non-squadronites alike to enjoy, fear and explore.

My thoughts
Yes? No!
Initially I admit I was a little confused and disappointed. Though I also won't go ahead and say that it was the best ending ever. What I will say is 'it is what it is'. I'm thankful for the experience and I really appreciate all the planning that has filled my last year with as much curiosity as it has filled me with uncertainty.
Well wait, let me back up a bit. I'm an interloper. I haven't done act 4. I couldn't do act 2 for lack of teeth and not lack of determination. That poor girl at Paxton's is probably so glad to be rid of me... My act 3 was cut short due to Film Yard closing. I spent hours this weekend studying jejune and elsewhere in fear that i might get thrown out for being a poser.
Maybe there's no other way for me to take the whole seminar than whole-hearted graciousness, but I think this ending begs us to do one singular thing.
Transcend to your Elsewhere. Make your own story for other squadronites and non-squadronites alike to enjoy, fear and explore.
Then again, I could have missed something.

As much as it pains me to say so, count me as one of the disappointed. So much could have been said/done, and at the end it's just a sweaty hippie party? Was that the point? That there are no good guys or bad guys in the world?
why bother with all of the sturm und drang and buildup that effectively rendered us insensible to the supposed "messages" we were supposed to be receiving from Antoine Logan, if Antoine's messages were the point of the day? All it did for me was create mistrust of the entire thing.

Count me among the disappointed on this one. The trust building, and lowering of our inhibitions was fun for the first couple hours or so, but ultimately I was there because of the story. Sadly this final act contained no conflict, tension or meaningful resolution. Tension is what makes stories worth listening to. Just look at how having the assignment from Terrance the previous day added tons of interest and excitement to meeting the jejunites in the hotel room.
Yes I agree chasing Coleman out of the building while throwing tea at him would have been silly, but there were so many opportunities to expand the story of this final act. What if the EPWA hacked into the video feed thanks to us having our tea in pockets. What if Eva made an appearance on screen (or even just over the speakers) and called out all the groups for falsely acting in her name. So many possibilities...
We were promised so much leading up to this, surely it wasn't going to please everyone. But to ignore the previous acts, and characters introduced was quite odd. That said, I think the performances, and design of everything was top notch. And I am so glad to have been able to have participated in this with all of you. Just left me wanting more I guess.

Also, here's a video of Octavio's final message. (Perhaps someone has a better recording than my shaky iPhone video?)
