You might be surprised at how close some of the public has been allowed to stand and watch the action. I had a jeep full of soldiers stop about twenty feet away from me in one of the scenes. They do look out for safety when there are special effects explosives or fires or potential for a tank to accidentally let loose on a hill. But there have been quite a few times when we've been allowed right on the edge of the action. I'm having a great time soaking it all in.

While watching one of Quick2000's vids, I can hear him talking to someone wathcing the filming. He mentions he is uploading the clips to everyone or something like that and the woman he is talking to mentions something along the lines of breaching his confidentiality agreement.

I would assume nearby residents have been asked not to make public information regarding the movie. Sure, a few pics and vids will leak out but this guy had some great behind the scene footage which I'm sure someone on JJ's team found out about. A nice but threatening message on YouTube was enough to persuade him to cease and desist.

Ah yes, who knows, perhaps, if this guy won't write in our forum - it's a part of viral?
I mean, at StarTrek ARG I was contacted by a twitter user @bevbrecher, who claimed to follow the #StarTrekARG, but after all we discovered, she also was part of the viral (not of the story itself). So she was kinda meta-ingame.

it say its fotage from tonight but the orignal video was posted on the 11th it could well be paart of the viral (video not the poster)my m8 is an extra and currently working on a top movie being filmed in the uk(i dont know any thing about it so please dont ask) and he said there searched any were near the film set for camras/phones ect. im jusat a bit suprised that theyed just let people film on set even if it is on location in a town

I think that is the smoke that add the dramatic tone to the sky, although the trace rounds looks odd. Question

Ehm, I wonder, whether it's a shot of Spielberg/Abrams-Team making a movie, or already a teaser to the movie? I mean, it really looks like After-Effects producted scene.

Who shot actually this clip?
To bk1 and another Weirton insider: was the sky really such dramatic? I mean, if we will found differences between this clip and the actual greenscreenless circumstances, we could suppose, that the clip is made... especially for us? I mean, with hints and so?

The "Dangler" is nothing more than a dead leaf hanging from a tree branch.
I mean, If they had tentacles or other pieces of what could be the creature hanging around set, don't you guys think there would be more pictures and videos of it?

I have no doubt in my mind that the creature(s) will be full-CG, and we won't see any trace of them until the movie comes out(or a trailer).

Thanks for the video link NOC14672! Cool video, but why does the dark cloudy sky and tracer rounds look CG? Any one else, or is it just me?

But the clip is only 19 seconds long! Are you watching a different video? Sounds like your talking about the movie "Monsters" with the Octopus dangling legs.

watching a scene being shot tonight. same neighborhood. more fire and gunfire. only thing new is a large spot light shining into the sky and being moved quickly across the sky as if it is looking for something. winged/flying creature???

Battle Scene
I was watching the video again, this time frame by frame, and I don't see what you say flibble666, can you post a picture?. Seems that the scene is actually happen on the street the convoy is entering and not at the hill we see, I say this because of the two men in front of the house at the right, they don't look as they belong to the scene.
