I kinda heard the same thing. The bump at the end makes me think they are either in a car, or on a train. This made me think that they are those people on the train from the trailer right before the truck hits them.....Anyone agree? Confused

P.S. I think the blue cam or whatever is what the Monster is in. They are talking about how they need to keep something safe right? This has to be the train. Thats my final statement.

what I heard revisited

I've played around with the file using mixing software. Now it sounds like there is a train in the background. The beep sounds like an electronic scanner used in grocery stores. The conversation -

Sorry, I didn't see you back there.

If we had any we'd let you know.

Blue can, lion on it.

Do you think there'd be any in back?

No.

Ok then, sorry.

Some great audio detective work, especially working off such (deliberately) vague source material. Amazing some people hear passengers on a plane, others hear patrons in a store.

I'm leaning toward the latter, given the dialogue — if only because it's far too quiet to be in a plane cabin (which would have a constant drone of engines in the background).

I can buy the premise that someone else is recording this conversation since both voice levels are roughly the same (except for voice pitch, as expected). That would imply the record is at roughly an equal distance from both subjects, which also accounts for the environment noise also creeping in.

I have doubts about the tone being a camcorder turning on since it's an odd place to *start* recording the conversation — that would be bad surveillance work to jump in so late. Also, a camcorder tone would be heard by the subjects — you'd want to start tape rolling long before that so no one noticed it.

I thought the "blue cam, fly in on it" interpretation might be a surveillance director watching via remote, but then why would they be using a home video cam on the scene (obvious to spot) or in the van (which would have professional equipment)?

It certainly does sound like "blue can, lion on it" now, though the conversation wouldn't seem to be important by itself. Maybe the audio file is simply a clue that recording/surveillance is happening, that someone's watching someone.

And with SUPER 8 as the title, just imagine how CLOSE ENCOUNTERS would have played out in the era of digital video!

Again, another clue which isn't a blockbuster by itself, but one more piece of a very incomplete puzzle... with a long time left to solve it. Look at how the TRON ARG has 'stalled' for now... we're lucky we're still getting new clues this far out from S8's release.

I think this is proof for either mysterio or josh, its a recording of somebody looking for something in a store, those beeps could be somebody re-pricing with a price gun? or it could be the store doors, but i believe its a a price gun....this is recorded in current day i believe, cause of the technology im assuming the sound might be, and im thinking like a wal mart??? this is nothing more but a clue for josh I think, some people are after him...but there looking in a wal mart...dopes haha

Audio

I like the idea of them being in a plane looking at something and pointing at something like eleven said, makes the most sense...although i believe that they were looking for a drink after being stressed out

Possibly it could be a recording of Josh Minker himself in a Fish and Tackle store, asking for a fishing rod with a line on it or something about a line...

Listening to the sounds, and reading all the transcription notes I had an silly idea: perhaps it's really his father, and he wants to record something on the cam, just he worries about Josh, whether he will be able to playback it?

I think we made the most out of this clip.

It's a recording of a yet unknown man in a store.
Someone recorded the conversation on purpose and saved that clip in mp3 format.
The man possibly asks for a blue can. According to Euchre, it may be an 100 years old brand of peppermints.
If Josh minker is the one looking for his father on STIES, we can assume that the man recorded could be his father. The peppermints fits well in the description of such a character (every grandparents i know have a bowl of peppermints lying somewhere, lol).

So mysterious man is closing in on josh father, or he his already spying on him.

I think that is all we can conclude about this miniature clue.

Hmm, this is an audiological knightmare. I'll wait to hear your version. Is it:

Blue Can/kam ............

    Play on it...
    Lion on it..
    Flay on it..
    Piano
    Camera
    ... else

I can see the logic of lion (?nostalgic road trip perhaps); but still can't catch it (but I think a lot of these is like the spinning ballerina illusions-Once you flip it's quite difficult to switch back and is very robust until the counter flip).. Still there's some convergence which is good...

blue can, lion on it...

I was just thinking about the can for Lowenbrau beer... it was (may still be) blue with a lion logo on it. Maybe he was asking the flight attendant/store manager for some? Not sure if that was mentioned or anything else yet, but it just came to mind...

This is what I get:

(First voice): Sorry, didn't see 'em back there.

(Second voice): If we had any it'd be in a blue can, lion on it.

(FV): Do you think there's any in the back?

(SV): No.

(FV): OK, sorry.

This is a conversation in a small store. Why?
Blue can, lion on it. Yes, its a real product. You can get it on Amazon. Its been around a long time.
Wink

Okay if this is taking place in a store then the chime could be someone walking through the door to let the clerks know someone entered.

I swear i've heard so many different things in this audio clip and i've convinced myself of what i heard until i read another attempt at deciphering it...like another poster said its amazing that we can all hear different things

Alright... first post but I think I've put this to bed. I've run this audio through 2 noise cancelers and spectored both voices to see the differences

here's the script

1: Sorry, I didn't see any back there.

2: Well, if we had any they'd be on the shelf

1: Blue can... Lion on it? Do you think there's any in the back?

2: (quickly) No...

1: Ok... That's fine.

I'll try to post the clean audio online soon so you can here it.
