My buddy will be sending my shirt and hat this week, but one thing I noticed that we haven't discussed yet is the possibility that the tag has information/clues in it. It's a custom, silkscreened tag on the inside of the neck. Has anyone had a chance to take a closer look at the info provided there?

Hasn't been asked... but there has been no indication as to where the tuck will be as of yet. My guess is that the truck will not be travelling outside the country, but will be seen in other major cities in the US.
I'm hoping that we'll get T-Shirts, buttons, and hats in the mail for those of us who couldn't see the truck in person! |
Yeah that would be nice. There's no chance that I would get one. Hopefully there is something new we can send in soon for a trade. |
Maybe there is still hope? Perhaps the reason why they sent us the RP letter in the mail before CC was to isolate or identify the people originally involved in the ARG so they can send us some goodies? And maybe anyone who sends in the coupon after CC will be out of luck? That way they can differentiate us from the influx of people after CC jumping on the band wagon. However, that being said, this is an ARG and the whole reason they do the stuff at events like CC is to generate interest. So I am not so sure they would stop sending the RP letters. It's all about the hype and hype = money! I know it sucks for those of us who have been here since the beginning but we must come to terms that we may unfortunately not get any sweet swag unless we were at one of these events like CC. I know people have put in a lot of hard work but the ARG is just starting up. We can all take pride in the work we have done so far.
Oh, and as an added bonus, we must be prepared for the influx of new people with all the same great comments. Prepare for the ultimate fish fry! |
ive been here since may but i have been away for a while and missed people reciving the letter and untill i cached up i diddent think they'ed bother sending applications out side of the us but ive seen a few people reciving leters from the uk so i sent mine off hopefuly im not to late maby for arg's out side of the us when the rp site opens there will be a section for people that have recived the letter and a space for the "space challange"
as for the thing on the moon culd it not be the Apollo 14 landing that cooper missed out on maby hes pointing at that

I noticed the strange fading on the T Shirt printing but chalked it up to cheap quality freebie print work. Never crossed my mind to possibly be a clue. Looks like if it were something then it would possibly be carried over to the non printed portion of the shirt. I also find the item at the boys legs to be odd, almost looks like a rock formation. I do hope some of our UF brethren are able to put a black light to the T Shirt. My curiosity is now peaked, nice work.
Any thought to adding the hat and ice cream wrapping to this analysis as well? |
Ok right looking at the pics....
to me the thing on the moon does look like a space shuttle and the mark to the right of where the boys leg was looks like a rock or the back or rest of the shuttle. from this I am guessing YOU MIGHT NEED TO TRY FOLDING THE T-SHIRT in some special way to get an image/clue.
Also, I don't know who said it but someone said it looks like from the new images coop and boy are sitting on a bench and that we'd never seen a logo before without the writing, TROUT, check the small logo on the STIES newspaper printout we got - to me it looked orrigionally like they were sitting on a rock, see headmans quote above.
GET FOLDING!!!

Spotted-Our first U.F.O (really!)
Is it a Rocket? Is it a Comet? No it's Super 8... But seriously, take a close look at the moon:
Anyone else see what's not in the logos?? How about that white thing being a contrail for whatever the cylindrical U.F.O is?
To ANYONE WHO OWNS A T-SHIRT; Please, please, please post some high quality images of the moon, logo, lettering and any other writing.

yeah im starting to think there are no clues in the sdcc incident but in fact it is just a marketing tool to pick up more and more people to the arg...just give them some free mooch and theyre hooked! i think the rp site will open up when the hype also picks up

Did it, ... But it's still kinda' blurry.

im going to call it the ''thing'' on the moon...it kinda has the shape a bit like a shuttle or even the lolly, but..
the strange white thing over the moon looks to be to be the same thing that is down by the boys knee. i thought it was a mountain rage as mentioned, but the more i looked at it the more they seem to match.
the boys knee would be covering the bit that points down at the front of the thing and the 'T' in poppeteers it cutting off the bottom bits.
could be bad printing and totally unintentional (i wonder if any other shirts have this??) but dont know. the fact that they arent mirror images of each other made me think its not just becuz the shirt has been folded over on itself. |
Looks like there are some others with the same strange printing/markings. I would post more pics but I am getting a pass thru warning.

Haven't really seen Speilburgs early work, and certainly haven't seen AMBLIN. I wanted to try and put JJ 's comments in context:
| Quote: |
But anyway, years later…this was a couple years ago…I called Steven and I said, “I have an idea for a movie called Super 8.” And I just sort of pitched him. And he was very excited about it. Because I knew, in a weird sort of way, having worked on those movies, I had a sense of what he had done when he was a kid......
.....And the movie is, I think, very much in the spirit of some of the Amblin films that he made years ago. |
Reading wiki is not the same as seeing the film, but I presume he's talking more than "super-8" footage and maybe about the style/feel of the film?? Was wondering if anyone could expand on that??
