Solution?
Okay, I think I have solved all the clues.
Here are the locations in order: 1. Start at Wallach Walk means entering the park at the 72nd Street and Fifth Ave entrance. 2. Proceed south on the East Drive until you reach the the statue of Balto at 67th Street. 3. Next head through the Willowdell Arch (the cave the Captain mentions). 4. Then pass between the statues of William Shakespeare and Christopher Columbus, which are located across from each other on the Mall. 5. The next destination is the Dairy Visitor Center and Gift Shop which is just south of the two statues mentioned above. 6. Finally, head south on East Drive to the Grand Army Plaza in the southeast corner of Central Park (near 59th Street and Fifth Ave). The path walked doesn't make a shoe shape or in any other way seem to correspond to the ultimate code map that Mulligan drew, so I'm not sure if that is just a red herring or what. One of the weaknesses in the game so far is that it seems that you don't really need to follow the entire treasure trail, since only the last stop matters. Them beautiful ten thousand golden dollar coins were all we had. Mulligan: And now any lubber can find it and spends it. Black Tom: [Japanese - anyone have a translation for this?] Captain: Aye, Tom. That be the plan. To retrace our steps, but we'll do it secret like. Word's been leaked that we lost our gold. I suspect there be spies listenin' to every word we speaks. Crothers: And we'll never let spies steal what we stole first. Captain: And never stop till we remembers where that chest be buried. Dash.] [Mulligan: Dot. Dash.] Balto's the code see. Captain: Crothers, wait. Crothers: By me code of Balto I mean the statue of Balto. The dog statue. That's me code. Captain: If ye says it's a code Crothers, it ruins the sneakiness. Bird: Dot. Dash. Dot. Dot. Captain: I'll say where we was after the Balto statue, but I won't say its [Mulligan: Dot. Dash. Dot. Dot.] a code. And I'll just make it confusing [Bird: Dot. Dash.] so spies can't understand me. Mulligan: Dash. Dot. Dash. Dot. Captain: After a cave we went between Cape Shakespeare and Columbus Rock. See? No mention of code. Ha har. Crothers: That is confusing. I have no idea what you're talking about. Captain: As long as I can remembers, thinking way back in me thinky thoughts, Crothers has always been the luckiest man alive, and as long as I can remember all that luck were bad. Crothers gets hit in eye with knife Crothers: Whoa. Whoa. Ahhhh. Mulligan: Dot. Dash. Dot. Dot. Dash. Dot. Dash. Captain: Stop spewing that blasted Morse code. Me fine flashback has been ruined on account you cannot shut your bilge hole. Black Tom: Roku san ni san. Roku ni go ichi. Roku ni ni kyu. [translates as: 6323 6251 6229] Captain: Aye Tom. You've grabbed the sneakiness by the belly. That clue don't mean nothing now. Ah har. It belongs in the next episode. That'll fool listening spies. Mulligan: Tom. Help. This toy has me and it will not let go. Black Tom removes chinese finger cuffs Black Tom: Zut. Mulligan: Oh thank you Tom. Captain: I hate to think what it would be like if I did not have Tom on me crew. Black Tom. Perhaps the finest pirate I've ever sailed with, and I've sailed with Johnny Longbottoms. T... Mulligan: I have a good code. Instead of Central Park we call it Pentral Cark. Captain: Mulligan you're just switching letters about. You're still saying Central Park. Mulligan: Yeah, sneaky code ain't it. Captain: There ain't nothing sneaky about switching the "C" with the "P". Mulligan: But you see what I did with the "C"... Captain: Mulligan, that conspicurous code be as useful as a one legged man in a leg having contest. Crothers: Ha ha ha. Captain: Har har. Mulligan: Oh. Then how about this. Instead of calling it window sill, we call it window sell. Sill, I-L-L, sell, E-L-E. Crothers: Oh. That's clever that is. Captain: If by clever you mean turds. Black Tom: Ha ha ha. Captain: Listen we needs to focus. Remember we is retracing our steps so's we can find our treasure. There is the next important word we have to say. But we don't want eavesdropping spies to hear us say "Dairy" out loud. So to make it all sneaky, Mulligan, you say: I ated the ice cream. Mulligan: I don't know what you're talking about. I don't remember eating any iced cream. But I do remember what I was gonna buy with my share of the treasure. Wait, I'll say it in code: belly jeans. Captain: I know you're saying jelly beans. I am not even gonna waste a flashback on ya. Instead I will remember me sweet stuffed animal type friend - Totty. Captain: I remember sitting with Totty on our favorite rock. Him and me. Me and him. Totty were always the mediscine for me troubled s... Mulligan runs by Captain carrying a spyglass Captain: Where are you going you great poop! Mulligan: I'm going up to the highest point of the ship to clear me head and think of new codes. Captain: Sit down. You know you ain't allowed in the crows nest. Mulligan: But I loves it. Captain shoots the spyglass out of Mulligan's hands Bird: Liddy armies [phonetic]. Crothers: That "little armies" is the code I thunk up, and I ain't letting you steal it. Mulligan: Ah. This meeting is supposed to be mysterious and secret like. Black Tom shouts, raises sword and disappears in a flash of fire and smoke Crothers: Hooray! Mysterious and secret like at the same time. Mulligan: Done. They all look down at the drawing made by Mulligan Mulligan: There it is the code of all codes. Captain: Be that a foot? Mulligan: Yeah, your foot. Captain smashes bottle on Mulligan's head. Crothers: Ha ha ha. Captain: Tracing me foot. Why don't we all prance up to the top deck, lock arms, and riverdance off the rotten plank. [END OF VIDEO] So the Morse code translates to: Start at Wallach Walk. Putting the clues together, we have: 1. The gold starts its journey somewhere in Central Park. 2. Start at Wallach Walk. 3. Next stop is the statue of Balto. 4. I'm guessing that Cape Shakespeare is a reference to the Shakespeare Garden. Not sure what Columbus Rock represents. 5. Next stop is the Central Park Dairy. 6. Little armies is probably a reference to Grand Army Plaza. 7. ??? Does the foot drawing have any relevance here? By the way, "red hell and bloody death" is a reference to Patrick O'Brian's 1984 novel, the Far Side of the World. Greetings fellow treasure seekers. I thought to help clarify the forums slightly, as many of you mentioned not being from nyc and i am. The balto statue that is mentioned is located in east central park around 67th...the "Cape Shakespeare" and "Columbus Rock" that are mentioned are most likely the statues of Columbus (which is on a large rock) and Shakespeare (who has a cloak/cape flapping behind him) which are slightly south and west of the Balto statue, and are parallel to each other. The Dairy, which is mentioned is on 65th farther west than the statues.

Since the video came out, I've been trying to decode the morse code, and now my head hurts, I've been editing the audio and everything, but it's just a pain in the butt to understand, though I have managed to get the first two words out of it, they're not as important as what is after it though, the first two words are:

I'm thinking that the "cape" will be a sticky-out piece of land somehow relating in name to Shakespeare (William, Stratford, bard, etc?) and the "rock" will be an island relating to Columbus. Since they're pirates, it makes sense that they sailed between the two.
EDIT: Alternatively, if it's a walking trail, there is the Delacorte Theatre, which is in Central PArk (in line with 80th street) which shows "Shakespeare in the Park". Columbus Avenue runs parallel with the north-west side of the park. Posted: Sun Aug 01, 2010 3:16 pm |

joining the game
start in central park is obvious enough, at the Balto statue (google says there's one in new york). After that, no idea, naturally - between "cape shakespeare" and "columbus rock". There's a Columbus circle in NYC, but I don't know if there's one big rock there or something. Tom listed off 12 numbers - 6323 6251 6229. Too long for a phone number - maybe GPS coordinateS? Longitude and latitude or something? Captain did say that clue wouldn't make any sense until the next episode, though. "Red hail and bloody death" and "between wind and water" was said at the end... "between wind and water" is from Shakespeare. Not sure how it relates specifically,t hough. Anyone want to transcribe the morse code the parrot and pirate are reciting in the video and translate??
