Thanks for revising it. Glad we can work together collectively. That makes it fun.

Hey, I just said that my theory was another possibility. I didn't mean for it to sound like I was shooting your theory down entirely. I think it is very creative (and said as much above) and I certainly wouldn't have come up with it on my own. In any event, I completely agree with you that it is too early to tell what the "ultimate" code will turn out to be.
I see what you meant about the map now. The only times I went off-road were going from the Balto statue to the mall to the point north of the Shakespeare and Columbus statues and then down between those two statues to get to the Dairy.
A revised map sticking strictly to the road (but still going between the two statues as required by the clue) can be found here. As you can see, it doesn't really change shape all that much. Incidentally, you would have to go off-road a little to get to Overlook Rock as well.

What I meant by Google maps not staying on the roads is that your map looked like the road to the gold was not staying on the actual roads but was tresspassing. Is it staying on the roads? I couldn't tell. I was asking.

The locations on the map are accurate. I'm not sure what you mean about staying on the roads. I chose to stay on the roads largely because I don't think the puppetmasters expect you to trespass or have to hack your way through a forest to retrace their steps. Choosing the direct routes from point to point doesn't change the picture all that much anyway. If you like I can make a direct point to point map and share that as well.
Anyway, while creative, I'm not sure that your idea that the "key" to solving the puzzle is finding words associated with a hidden location each week and then piecing the words together, is correct.
Another possibility, which I find to be more likely, is that the locations when mapped will form a picture which will hint to the ultimate location of the buried treasure. The fact that Mulligan refers to a drawing as the "ultimate" code is suggestive of this.
By the way, the numbers Black Tom rattled off in this episode seem to me to be a clear indication of addresses, specifically:
1. 23 East 63rd Street, New York, NY
2. 51 East 62nd Street, New York, NY
3. 29 East 62nd Street, New York, NY
These are all close enough to the ending point in this episode of Grand Army Plaza at 59th Street and Fifth Ave, to be plausible next points on the map. Here is a another Google Map updated with those points.
I am not sure what you have posted about the numbers have anything to do with this map as it is for the next episode right? We will see about the message. I think it is probably too early to count our chickens yet. I just said I "think" it could probably be a message we are looking for with eight words or combos of words to spell out where it is. It has to be put together probably or go to another map or something. I think rather than telling each other what is wrong with our theories, it may be more productive in working together with various ones til we come up with the correct one. What do you say fellowtraveler? Are you up for that?

I also think the Google map is not staying on the actual roads. Check that too.

I suppose if that is on Wallach Walk, then it is a possibility. I thought it came from the zoo but apparently it goes up above balto so i guess it could start from above and come down.

So basically your theory is that the location of the Captain during the last flashback (regarding Totty) is the missing location on the path of the gold?
The rock he is on is likely Overlook Rock which is near the Pond in Central Park. It is called Overlook Rock because it overlooks the Pond to the West and East Drive to the East.
Click here to see a Google Map I created which shows the path of the gold as evidenced by the clues revealed so far. I haven't added Overlook Rock as a stop yet because I'm not sure if there is complete consensus that it is an actual clue/destination. However, if it was an actual destination that would make it so that there were eight clues total this first week, which works nicely with the idea that there are eight episodes.
Incidentally, I agree that the Mulligan never actually steals Totty from the Captain. Instead as I noted in my transcript, it looks to me like Mulligan just runs by the Captain carrying something, and is holding that same object when they exit out of the flashback. The Captain later shoots the object out of Mulligan's hands. I had assumed that the object was a shiny metal spyglass due to its shape and Mulligan's reference to going to the highest point on the ship. On further review of the video however, the object almost looks like an unlit torch because it has a red cloth wrapped around it and Mulligan sort of carries it like an Olympic runner as he passes the Captain in the flashback.
It is too bad that nobody seems to be paying much attention to the game so far. From the NY Times article it sounds as if the puppetmasters have really put a lot of their heart and soul into it. I hope the energy around the game picks up as it goes on.
I do not think this google map resembles what I remember. Can you recheck it? I thought it was in kind of a circle.

Yes that is what i think but I made the correction that Totty was not missing. That was misinterpreted by me but I still think that is the rock the captain is on and with the additional mention by mulligan of crow's nest I think that "Overlook" fits as my first word. You all can go with what you want but that is my observation. Good luck to you all.

When does he "lose" Totty? Totty seems to be in his hand the whole time. There are a lot of locations on the path that are not mentioned, and based on my map they pass at least three rocks that are not mentioned anywhere in the video...
The rock I mean is the one after the Dairy on the walking path as it is when the video goes to the flashback of the capn on the rock after mentioning the dairy, if you watch it and follow along. The additional clue of the crow's nest should help you figure out what rock. Hope that helps.

Sorry I guess he is. I thought Mulligan took him but you are right. LOL. My bad. I think this is still the missing link we are looking for though.
