Thought about this today and decided to check to see if they posted the solution. I guess it's not going to happen. Took a peek at one of the videos again. Such a sad ending (no solution) to some of the best produced media I have ever seen. Cheers.

Still Hunting
Yar Har - I still thinks the treasure be buried in Central Park.
A) their clues didn't add up and the smarter folk would rip it apart or B) this was a pure hoax from the getgo.
I know for a fact that this was NOT a hoax. However, I think the clues probably didn't add up as well as they intended. That's probably why after 3 years nobody ever came close. (Close is not randomly looking in 5 parks one of which is Floyd Bennet Field.) People are going to cry foul on the solution no matter what though. It's also possible that the hurricane never broke the treasure hunt, and they dug it up just to be over with it.
They really should follow through with this because if they ever decide to try this again in the future, it'll help to show that it was real the first time and there was a solution. I think that most people were too skeptical to believe it the first time.

As seen on this board, the videos could be interpreted to have 100's if not thousands of clues leading in all different directions.
I wouldn't be surprised if the PM's don't have a list of clues and, as much as I would like to see a detailed full solve, don't expect to get that satisfaction.
I don't doubt that the treasure was buried, and I agree with their reasoning for digging it up themselves, but realistically I don't think anyone would have found it without some additional clues anyway.

I don't think so. I hope not. I'm trying to remain positive. My husband has been saying the same thing for a long time.
I just can't understand how you could make a written or verbal puzzle without first having written down the clues/path.
Maybe they are too busy with Glove & Boots.

Shenanigans
Hurricane Sandy hit NY at the end of October. It is now mid January. There is no solution posted by the puppet masters. No follow up video. No explanation.
Sorry guys , I call BS because logically the puppet fellas would have a list of all their clues and what they mean therefore there is zero rational reason why it would take 2.5 months to post that onto their website. That comes across as either A) their clues didn't add up and the smarter folk would rip it apart or B) this was a pure hoax from the getgo.
Not saying this to be negative however what do we really have as FACTS:
1) Two guys made some media noise with a treasure hunt
2) Same two guys , years later, posted that "evidence was damaged" and therefore unearthed what they allegedly buried.
3.) Two guys made essentially zero media noise when "treasure" was found and The small NY Times article on this stated:
"The idea was to increase Web traffic for their projects – and perhaps catch the eye of someone willing to pay them for the next one. We Lost Our Gold, the Web site, had thousands of followers, but one of their other puppet productions found a bigger audience and was nominated for a Webby Award. So Mr. Bova and Mr. Eckhardt-Jacobi decided to end the treasure hunt.".
So did they end the hunt due to "damaged evidence" or did they abandon ship because raising money for WLOG became a lost cause and they decided to pursue whatever their other tag team of puppets.
Strange.

I think it's time to start accepting that we will never know the solution.
I'm waiting also. Just want to know if what I had was right or not? I spent a lot of time on this as many of you on this board have. Probably more because I have never done anything like this and really had no clue how to do any of it. I've spent money traveling to and from the city. I live in LI. I've enjoyed myself and learned a lot. Just want to know if all the research I did mattered or not.

Oh, Brother!
Guys this is a picture of a three people sitting down. One who has a poster size board in her lap the other a sketch book that just happen to be fanning out. There is a 3rd person between the two of them. NO ARROW! They are probably artist doing sketching, ya know you see that a lot around New York. In every borough.

Its not photoshopped.
The 'We Lost Our Gold' website was registered in 2005, so this hunt has been a long time in development. Anything could have changed in that area in that time, especially considering Coneys fortunes.
Checking google maps right now even has the boardwalk with the gazebos undergoing complete renovations.

Gazeebo
Maskit: That Gazeebo and arrow is definitely photoshopped. I went to that exact spot a bunch of times and the surrounding area is not the actual scenery in real life. I even had workers there confirm it was photoshopped.
I thought for sure the treasure was under the boardwalk. Between that Gazeebo pic, the parachute jump being crows
Nest, "shoot the freak in the face" game is right there, and even home plate of Cyclones Stadium is about 250ft.
I am shocked it is not in Coney.

Obsessions are part of the game
I don't begrudge anyone their obsessions. I doubt that there is anyone who took this seriously who didn't obsess about something that turned out to be wrong.
And the reverse is even worse. I made 3 day trips from Mass. to search Floyd Bennett Field and then gave up. In hindsight, I'm convinced that one more trip would have led me to the Black Gates of Hell and eventually to the loot. But after three exhausting days, I figured it was a false obsession and gave up. My bad.
