Re: Everything We Know So Far

Everything you posted in the middle here doesnt belong in this story.. Its a nice story, but it has no basis in fact..

Now it makes sense that this happens in or around Cincinnati, OH. It fits in with the Ohio River, someone mentioned that the traffic lights mentioned in the newspaper was implemented in two cities, Cincinnati and Columbus.

Now since the train was traveling from Area 51 to Ohio, its most likely that the train went through Cincinnati as it is on the border of Ohio and is which most trains go through since its such a big city.

Now if you look at this pic: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ad/Air_Force_Facilities.jpg I'd post the pic myself, but its kinda big and I don't think people would appreciate such a huge pic in the thread.

You see that the only active USAF base(and I assume then, the most well guarded) is Wright-Patterson AFB. It is also only an hour by car according to googlemaps, which should be less by train. This ties in the to trailer as the operator say ETA on schedule. It makes sense that the operator would only call/check in if they were close to arriving, so as have the base get ready for the shipment. It wouldn't make sense to do it hours hour, or even before Cincinnati as there are two many variables to consider if your not on the last leg of your journey. You wouldn't do that if you had a major city to go through where so many things could slow you down.

And.... my mind's blank. If I can remember anything else that I came up with, I'll post it.

Let me know what you all think and hopefully this helps gain some perspective into the game's mystery.

How about this..

The sole problem being that each individual differs on what he or she accepts as "fact" Smile. But that's just the fun of this game isn't it?

This is all objective though. It's all my idea on whats going on. Granted the title is a tad misleading, I meant it for my ideas to be based off everything we know. If you want a summary of all the facts go the http://super8.wikibruce.com/Home

That place has all the info.

I'll second that, at least as far as the front/Home page is concerned - the nutshell overview on the right is as brief a complete overview as really can be made, linking further to detailed pages.
But, as usual, there are many resources to bookmark and frequent, each with varying degrees of 'fact' and 'theory'. I think our hope for UF is to compile all that knowledge and (attempt to) decide here what is fact and theory Smile

I believe you had a great idea going here, however please edit your first post of only FACTs/ or highly educated guesses that most of us agree with.

Your theories are all sound however except for one...can a Super8 camera work in the darkness? Why would kids be in the dark with a camera of that nature if it doesn't capture good in dark? Also there is no way that authorities wont be there within minutes considering the radio communication and another vehicle witnessing the accident as it occured.

good work though. lets keep it up

Well, I don't mean to offend you but as you said yourself, this is your idea on what is going on. So it is not objective but subjective. It's not a neutral list that new players should build their opinions on.
And, right, thebruces wiki is already there.

It would have to be very objective, though. Like only 100% granted clues should appear on that list. Nothing in the vein of "I could accept that...".

I'm On To You Abrams
I think we need a weekly post of this nature. A summary is pretty much needed for those that don't want to or can't (because of time constraints), wade through the hundreds of pages and posts.

[SPEC] What I Think Is Happening In The Game
Summary

Hello unifiction, this is my first time playing/hearing of ARGs and I am quite enjoying it. My summarized theory of what is happening based on all that has happened so far is this:

A train left Area 51, headed for Ohio (destination not disclosed).

The Air Force Symbol on the train indicates that it's owned/operated by the USAF.

Since it was leaving Area 51, we have to figure that the train first came from an USAF base or is heading to one after leaving Area 51 with the cargo.

I will accept the idea that kids(most likely teenagers or college students) have inadvertently captured footage of whatever is in the train that breaks out.

Someone from the group to witness the event, showed the footage publicly somehow.

This is what prompts the message on the PDP of stop posting publicly.

The message is from a government agent working on the coverup/retrieval of whatever was in the train.

The message tries to draw out the person using the PDP by saying that they have proof, presumably proof that would verify the kids claims that this was an alien.

Now, when the train was derailed the kids were in the forest at the time, came out saw it, recorded it.

Whatever was in the train got out, and the kids ran to safety. Maybe a cave of some sorts, to hide from the monster.

The government agents arrive to contain the situation, begin to search the area come across the kids. One of the kids is taken hostage as the agents move to take the rest of them to assure nothing gets out about the thing in the train.

The other kids however, get away and lose the agents. They go home.

The one with the footage, posts the pictures somehow. Enough to draw attention of the agents who are still looking for them. The agents track the pictures to the computer and send the message.

However, the person does not respond to the message and waits.

One person from the group investigates what happened to the one person that was captured. After a futile search, the guy sends the altered newspapers out to the members of the group, telling them that he doesn't know if the friend they lost is alive, that the gov't may be after them, and they should go underground.

The group of kids are already UFO believers and have heavily researched UFO sightings. The kid uses the picture of Gordon Cooper, who had claimed to see UFOs, as the marker to indicate where the message was hidden in the newspaper.

Now it makes sense that this happens in or around Cincinnati, OH. It fits in with the Ohio River, someone mentioned that the traffic lights mentioned in the newspaper was implemented in two cities, Cincinnati and Columbus.
