Let's see if we can get a little more info about the game on the wiki http://tron.wikibruce.com/Space_Paranoids_Online
I've added a section for screenshots, maps (Clu Program! You rock Wink ), and if possible clips of the barcodes from each level...

That, sir, is very much appreciated by me and VanGoghX than you can ever imagine.. thank you so much for taking time and putting effort on this. Can't wait to see those barcodes.. >:] (I hope 42E won't remove it though.)

You can usually see through at the seams, so it's easier to find them. I'll try and take some screenshots tonight to show the effect.

Other than that, I've found no easy way to find the walls.

Thanks for the tip. Can't.. wait.. >:D

EDIT: So far, I have found 6, 7, 9, and 10's (including Clu's map of 1 up to 5). Sector 8 was hard, and after getting bored, I was supposed to fire the cannon just for fun, but unfortunately, it was hit. So no for 8.

Just a tip for 10 though, the "room" can be found behind the cannon, on the lower-right corner of the map, near a recharging station. ;]

One last thing: is it really normal for a cannon to fire randomly while your in the "room?" 'Cause as I am typing this right now, I just heard the cannon (which is the only enemy left) firing, but from the position to where I am right now, I can't see the cannon (probably we're just walls away).

Très, très bon! Looking forward to more. Can you share on your methods for making the maps?

Me neither. Kinda blows me away how quickly they were all found when I haven't seen a single one.
Maps or some kind of directions from the starting point of a level or two for us blithering idiots would be greatly appreciated!

I'd been trying various methods to come up with a map for each sector. It's not easy. First, the floors aren't grid-based, so there are all kinds of half steps, weird walls, etc. At least they're all 90 degrees to each other, but it's still hard to come up with a diagram. Second, there's no "up". Once you move, it's hard to tell which way you're facing. I think the best way would be to use the minimaps of each screen grab when you're in the secret room. Many of the maps are both vertically and horizontally symmetrical, so you'd have to check 4 places, but it's a start (given the position of the gun recharge squares).

I'd be game to put together such a page (or add it to the wiki) if some people could share their screenshots. I've managed to find 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 (I think, have to check my images).

I've also noticed that playing "off line" is a bit easier, because you can make the browser big. When you do that, there's usually a small draw error when you see the false wall. You can usually see through at the seams, so it's easier to find them. I'll try and take some screenshots tonight to show the effect.

Sadly there's no fake walls from the outside going in. Halfway wonder what the shape of the parimiter makes. Probably nothing coherent.

I'm going to the outside of the arena

Ok, so I've been thinking. First, we've got the hidden areas. We know about those.

But reading the quote on the intratnet page:

Quote:
Hard Work Pays Off
Thursday, May 6th

Now that Space Paranoids is blasting its way onto computers around the globe, it’s time to congratulate all of the programmers, sales reps and other employees who made this project come to life. Thousands of man-hours went into developing “S.P. Online,” and we don’t want anything to sully the good name of this product… or Encom as a whole.

That’s why we must remind you not to dwell on any issues you may have with the finished product.

Lots of games are released with slight idiosyncrasies still lurking in their code, but we don’t need to publicize the matter. After all, this is a classic title that was created decades ago – the peculiarities are what give Space Paranoids its charm.

I'd like to undertake a full exploration of the game. Now, I just noticed that 'g' turns a glow on/off on your tank. If there's one hidden command, there may be more.

Anyone notice any other keystrokes? I'm also curious as to if there's a way to enable more info on your map. I've been trying various keystroke combos to no avail. Shift/CTRL don't seem to do anything. Anyone have any other ideas?

It looks like pressing 'G' turns the shaders and other special effects (like glow) off to increase game performance. I'm not 100% if it affects anti-aliasing in the process.

I've managed to get through the whole game without losing any lives. Still curious if anyone has managed this with 100% accuracy.

Nice job! Nothing special for doing it eh? Oh well. Let us know if you do get a perfect game.
