My name is taken from two songs by Powerman5000. I like both songs, and it sounds obviously SciFi (big SciFi fan). I live in Las Vegas, like Konamouse, and grew up following Area51 stuff, Ecks51 just fit on a few levels.
I spelled out the X because of how I think of certain letters, some serve little to no purpose (x, c and y) and I try to refrain from using them. The only hitch to that thought process is the sound of CH. Also by that my username is misspelled, it should be eks51.

I know a machine man he's X-51
Harder than steel-his fists they're
Like machine guns
The Son of X-51
Sitting with your eyes shut tightly,
Waiting for the time you must leave
Surrounded by people that you'll never know,
Still you must go and transmit the sound
Of what you have found and leave everything that you knew behind
Let's go,
I know the son of X-51
And so,
You'll know your time has only begun
Can it be what you want it to be,
Can it be everything?
Can it be everything that you want it to be,
Begging you to believe....
Let's go,
I know the son of X-51
And so,
You'll know your time has only begun
Watching with your arms wide open,
Thinking everyone should just stop
Surrounded by people that you'll never need,
A plan to deceive
Is what we all need,
And keep everything that you knew inside |
My current avatar is Red-X (running theme) from Cartoon Network's version of Teen Titans. One of the more interesting side characters, I think.

Rambling Story TIEM!
Name:
Like Rekidk, My internet life has been filled with various forums and games...
First community i was part of was the fan forum for Stephen Curtis Chapman (Christian Contemporary Musician) under the name "ProjectMaker"...as I came there looking for info for a class project. Stuck around for a while, but eventually drifted away... (Sadly, it appears that they replaced the forum with a brand new one a few years ago, so all my old posts are gone). ProjectMaker, naturally, is not a unique name.
Next up was Runescape (This was in Grade 6 or 7, i do believe). My dad is actually the one who came up with my name there...and no, I don't know how he came up with this one: "Lug Nutty". This appears to be unique for a nickname, allthough the phrase has been used on the internet to describe Lug Nuts (and nuttyness thereof) a number of times. Another name i used on Runescape was Kid20012001 (yeah, you heard me), which i ended up using on a few other random websites including
The Force.Net boards, Where I was a member of Ace Squadron (I was Ace Seven). I had actually totally forgot about that until i just googled Kid20012001
I used both Kid20012001 and Tim Hortones (yes, it's misspelled, should have been Tim Hortons. Also, if you have no idea what i'm talking about, you need to come visit Canada (or possibly Ohio, Michigan, or Kandahar)) on Neopets (In my defence, i was young and stupid).
A bunch of random forums and years later, and I started playing Legend of the Green Dragon (which, by the way, is awesome). I realized that my previous names had been pretty dumb (with the possible exception of Lug Nutty, yet for some reason I never used that name outside of Runescape). I had also just finished up Metroid Prime 2, wherein I found one boss to be incredibly awesome: Quadraxis. So that's the name I chose. (absolutely not unique! But suprisingly I appear to be the most "famous" user of this nick (according to Google search at least).
I started using Quadraxis as a nick elsewhere (For a while a search for Quadraxis on google would have my Wikipedia userpage at number 1...now it's 6 or so), but no matter where i used it people shortened it to Quady or Quad.
Back at LotGD, when joining the forums over there, I decided to go for a more unique name...and since the game is vaguely medieval fantasy, i went for "sir", combining it with the short form (because the short form by itself is not unique)...thus, SirQuady!
I've used variations on SirQuady/SirQuadraxis/Quady alot now...allthough I do have other nicks with accompanying varying levels of secrecy... (bwahahaha). And barring one painful incident with ARGnetcast #3 (it's pronounced SirQwahdee), SirQuady has been running along strongly as my nick in the ARG community....booyeah.
Avatar:
My avatars are just generally chosen to stand out. My current avatar, for example, was chosen because it stands out as it is:
a. black and white
b. repetitive
c. random
d. stands out
e. etc. etc. etc.
So, uh, yeah. Thanks for letting me rant. Any questions?

| Euchre |
Digging up an old thread, but a linky pointed me here and I just felt the desire to contribute...
Euchre is indeed a card game and a verb. In the game it's not the friendliest act, but the verb is usually applied in a less dubious way. It's usually a manipulation against another's preferences, but for the benefit of both parties. I've been known to do that every now and then.
My avatar, well...
My first one, the purple dragon, holds a broader personal meaning for me. I won't really go into detail on that, but if you want to know you'll get to know me more personally.
My second and current avatar was born after tagging about a dozen trout threads in one day on the Cloverfield forum. I said aloud to myself "I've tagged more trout than some wildlife biologists ever will.", and inspiration struck. Having also been the one to suggest the flounder and red herring concepts (illustrated superbly by CloverfieldClues.com) I figured being the resident Game Warden suited me nicely. The colors of the USFWS match pretty nicely with the forum theme, so I derived the logo from that and rendered it to an avatar size. If anyone feels generous, I'd love to have the logo as a patch or t-shirt.

Nice to see a Borges fan here, Randomeis.
My name is Taylor. Latin for tailor is "sartor."
My avatar is a screenshot from the film "The Seventh Seal," and the figure represented is Death. The quote is from T.S. Eliot's poem "The Waste Land," where a strange figure is described as walking beside two men.

my name is a combo of the word Random and the greek word for One Eis
And is pronounced accordingly ^_^
The wife and I are big BSG geeks so we teamed up to put together the Gaius Icon that is being used at the time of this post.

I don't think I've got an avatar right now - I need to get one!
My name? My real name is Jethro. I remove the "hr" and replaced it with "am", to make sure it's different from the other Jethro's on the interweb.

Welcome, eeglebu rger.
I'll post this here, instead of in a PM in case there are others who may happen upon it.
If you really want to switch your forum nick, just make a post at the end of this thread:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14675
One of the mods will pick it up and change it for you.

I wanted a play on words when referring to an eagle so I just substituted the A with an e (brilliant, I know ). I also enjoy eating burgers, so I mashed the two together and thus, eegleburger was born.
yeah, it says eegleBUGER on here mainly because I typed a little too fast and skipped the R
I've actually taken eegleburger to an extreme, tagging my shoes with it and transferring my name to the back of shirts. it's even my display name on myspace.
and obviously, the avatar is a picture of me, gazing longingly out of a window.

Well, it's quite something ... but irresistible? I don't know about that. After all, it's just a ridiculous, little ... mesmerizing ... strangely beautiful puppy ... in elaborate décor ... and with a glowing charm all it's own! ... I'll have to excuse myself for a minute here ...

Mikey, don't tell fibs - we all know there was no Googling involved there and that it's your prized pooch. There's no shame in admitting it (well actually, there is, but meh)
