Grizy,
I hope you get a positive reply.
Although we have the answer, I think we'd all like to know the correct process that should have got us there. I think the only problem is color determination on a couple of them. From what little I remember about (Basic) programming (back when I was in school), one wrong character (or colored pixel, in this case), can make all the difference!
It bothers me that I *guessed* the answer from just one of the phrases!
On second thought, regarding the last phrase, and not fully understanding how the piet program works, Baf's explanation makes sense to me. But I would like the 3rd phrase much better if 'subtle' was substituted with 'hide'.
Magma,
Wiki has a great article on the subject. And, isn't it ironic that humans have poor ability to distinguish colors in the *blue* portion of the visual spectrum... ? I think the first phrase (*not* a prism) may be referring to Chinese mythology, and the Goddess Nüwa.
For those who *still* don't get it:

Think of Noah's Ark spelled 'Arc'.

It still seems shaky to me... especially the 3rd and 4th lines. Are we *sure* the colors were all correct when running the piet program? I have a feeling we have some wrong words here.
I'd say that it's questionable whether the last word is part of the message, because (a) it's separated from the rest of the message by a couple of steps, and (b) the program from that point onward is garbage not in keeping with the pattern of the rest of it. Anyway, it reads better without that word.

I emailed David Morgan-Mar with this:-
Quote:
Hi David,
Piet. Fantastic. I've really enjoyed the journey through solving this puzzle.
The combination of programming and art takes it to another level.
May I ask, how do you convert the colour numbers into actual colours?
There has been some conjecture (even though the puzzle has been solved) as to whether we have identified the correct colours and produced all the correct phrases.
Is there a particular software package (hopefully in xp) that you use where you can simply enter the colour number?
Again many thanks. This card and your programming genius has given us many hours of entertainment / research / stress.
Grizy
P.S I have a spare of this card if you would like one
I also asked if he was the puzzle scribe.

So we are going with these?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
she sliced the canvas with shards
Prisms
a promise land shall never drown again
Noah's Ark
those green subtle the precious there
Leprachauns
the path of the messenger she
Iris, a Greek messenger of Hera
Seems a bit odd, the first not being mythology/belief-based. Is there no myth that encapsulates the first segment?

I dont have the card, so I dont KNOW the answer, but
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
if the answer is what I think it is, the 3rd clue is Irish

I would be honored to have my program on your site. Please feel free to post it there. My fiance and I are having a little competition to see who can make the coolest programs, so there may be more to come as well.

hope this isn't too blatently obvious, shards of a canvas: think what it would mean if I gave you the clue: "a prism"

Just got it, but I only get two of the allusions (the biblical one and the Greek one). Who slices the canvas with shards? What's all this about something green, subtle, and difficult to parse?
Im in the same boat, still dont know whats going on with the canvas shards or the subtle green thing, and only got the Greek reference after i had solved it. Anyone care to shed some light on the last 2 references?

Hey guys... This is the creator of Piet. I just checked in to see if anyone had solved the card yet, and I'm glad to see it's been cracked. Well done. From the conversation here, I'm pretty sure I know the solution, but then I'm not even playing the game. I'm just pleased you all got such fun out of messing with my programming language.

Thank you to Dr Cake and Mobius, after hours of reading these pages and Wiki - Noah's Ark it finally dawned on me.
My first forum post.
Thank you to all who worked this one out.

I usually use a coin as well, only some of the silvers easily have the numbers scratched off when using a coin. And I'm not talking about using a lot of force either. It's definitely worth being careful. Must be an adhesion problem with the silver backing and the printing.
