and I hand it off to Puppy, who made me go check. My only excuse is that it was three months ago.

Oh. And I appear to have cheated. Or this game has been going on too long. Take your pick.
It sounds like a movie has been used twice (because we've gone on for so long that some of the earlier clues have been forgotten). The only other "rule" we have is that the scene must have appeared on film, in a theater, not made for TV or direct to video.

A kloo. A classic road movie. But no Bob Hope or Bing.

Another bergman movie?

Doesn't work with the name thing but it's color film where a guy in a gorilla suit runs into the bedroom and scares his mother.
Best I can do.
Found another still from the same scene. The guy in the gorilla suit is George Segal playing a guy named GORDON Hocheiser. Ruth GORDON plays his mother Louise.

So you really need another hint???? Jeesh.
The woman's character is related to the guy in the gorilla suit.

So close ... had a guy in a monkey suit and the main actor with the same last name (The Bride and the Beast, a.k.a Queen of the Gorillas ... mmm, Ed Wood special). Alas, that doesn't meet the criteria and the movie was in B&W, not color.

That is SO not helpful!

The woman in the bed's real last name and her character's last name are the same.
I'll post the picture again since this is on a new page of the thread.
