Remember we have to be in possision of the cube.

[Crazy wild spec] The message on the back of the cards says something like

This would tell us where teh cube is, would explain how things can't be transported between our worlds, and also enable players from all over the world to have a fair chance of finding it. It also suggests that the PM's comments that BUYING the cards isn't neccessary to find teh cube are true, but one may have to LOOK at them online. So we should find out where the cube is when the third wave is brought out, more or less immediately. Then it'll just be a free for all of emails, with the first person to email the answer winning £100,000. [/crazy wild spec]

Anagram

Maybe it's just an anagram? Stole - lost... I see there's a spare 'E', but couldn't the entire message be an anagram for something?

EDIT: Of course it would be quite stupid to make a great coded message just to tell that the Cube i stolen... We kind of know that already

I really don't think the message will yield any great revelations. I think (as already suggested) it will be something very vague - help find the cube/solve the puzzles/return it to academy etc etc. Its like the map on the back of the cards, they look impressive, enhance the feel of mystery and bring the game to life, but essentially it won't help in discovering the location of the cube.

As articles in the Sentinel suggest:

The cards are merely an advertising campaign. Sente uses them as a way of creating interest on Earth about the plight of those in Perplex City. Therefore the message on the cards is just another puzzle for us to solve and draw us further into the game, rather than a clue to the whos wheres and whys.

Ultimately, the message is there to make us buy more cards when the 2nd wave is launched (or the rekindle our interest if its started to waver).

It was Sente! He wrote an admissoin of guilt thinking we wouldnt get it and muttering "foolish hu-mans, they lack the knowledge of us perplexians, muhahahahaha..."

I think one of the puzzle scribes helped in the theft. It explains how the inside info was obtained, and how the message got on the cards. I think it's probably Kurt due to the fact that we know about him. He also seems too inquisitive for someone who isn't saving their ass!

Look for sixsidedsquare's post just 4 posts above my last one. We think it may be related to the pack order of a Solitaire cipher (for which you need 54 unique cards) to allow us to solve Card # 243.

I can't be bothered working out exactly which playing card symbols we have (check the Card Catalogue), but assuming the theory that all the puzzle cards with playing card symbols are those with prime numbers is correct, then the full list of primes from 002 to 256 is as follows (those in blue are the ones that haven't been released yet):

Ok, well I'll skip everything I found, since it was already found... but I've got another spec for the entire message:

I STOLE THE CUBE HELP ME RETURN IT TO THE ACADEMY

that just spawned from the one leftover letter spot at the beginning which really only "I" would make sense. The next sentence makes sense given "HELP ME". And it makes for an interesting plot twist Wink

Just to restate it for people, we think each prime numbered card should have a playing card symbol on it, because this will give us 54 primes over all 256 cards, which is coincidently the same number we need for a solitaire cipher i.e. 243:Shuffeled.

Darn good eyes, whoever discovered that first! Shocked

Anyway, MarcB's observation that cards with a shaded partial character, are also the only ones with a card suit symbol, is very interesting! I thought I found a glitch, but his method does seem to be solid now. Wink
