Well, my nick comes from the fact that my parents' nickname for me has always been danman.
That's not so bad... What IS so bad is that whenever friends come over, my mom tags nicknames on them.

Meaning behind your username
Well, I started this over at CD and it's been quite interesting. I couldn't find a thread like this anywhere here so here goes...
One thing that has always interested me is how people come up with their online names/personas. I find myself wondering if fuzzymelon2k ate a moldy cantelope in the year 2000 and got violently ill or if kingohugs gives really good hugs. Is grumpyboy always grumpy? Is SuperguyA1 always a super guy when he has his A1 sauce?
My name, Varin, actually didn't have a very creative reason behind it in the beginning. It was just the name I used for my Everquest character and I think I may have even used the random name generator option in the game to come up with it. The funny story (or at least funny to me) behind it actually came about later. One of the things that first intrigued my husband about me was that the email address I gave him started with varineq@... He thought that it stood for variable inequality, so he figured that I was some mathematical genius. It really made him want to get to
know me more. hehe. He of course thought it was hilarious once he found out that the email address was from Varin, my character in EQ, and it was that email that I had used to contact my Everquest friends. On the other hand, I was kinda freaked out by his email address which started with creepo@... which actually just turned out to be what his aunt used to call him as a baby because he creeped around the house.
Does anyone else have any good stories they'd like to share about their names?
