Clearly not a city that has benefitted from the recent development of "urban planning." Old World is old sk00l, G.

Also, has anyone noticed the front of the tourist guide? What looks black in the scans is actually hiding another image of the city. Just above the word "City" to the left of the Ascendancy point you can really see the outline of the Key Square pond. It's like 96% grey . . . but the entire front of the guide has this masked wherever you see black. Neat effect. |
Nice one Potus! I looked at the brochure in good strong sunlight for the first time (always attacking the cards at night after work) and bingo! It looks like a wireframe of the city environs around the Key lake. There seems to be 2 big open spaces to the sth E and sth W right at the bottom of the brochure

I've had a good look at the pics re that last one, and I don't think it is a match, the building below the Ascendancy Point Tower has a different type of window from the top of the tour guide one. Sorry!

Nice work on the black scans. I had one quick pass at them before I noticed the second patterns, so I'll have to go back and re-scan this.

Potus, the front page is brilliant, I have had a look on the scan I have, and I have an echo, enough to see something, what you know is there - eg, Key Square, but not enough to see what you don't know. Have you tried scanning the section around the title in different ways to see what sort of detail you can pick up? I have attached the best I have managed (title section).
I can't work out which building you are trying match to the Ascendancy Tower piece, could you maybe give me some more detail?

Mima, from your Spare Pieces.jpg above; middle column image #1 . . . is the top right corner the same as the building in the Ascendancy tower bottom-left building? The street-works look similar in the way roads converge in the two pics.
Also, has anyone noticed the front of the tourist guide? What looks black in the scans is actually hiding another image of the city. Just above the word "City" to the left of the Ascendancy point you can really see the outline of the Key Square pond. Thanks Potus, from what I understand we are allowed to share close up's of particular areas no probs. I'm sure someone will let us know if not. I have managed to link this to a couple more of the tour guide shots:

Building on the roof eh? Well I hadn't seen that yet either! Now I'm seeing the whole area either an illusion of buildings painted incorrectly on purpose - or that moment of change when a video game easter egg makes itself visible in the resolution. I'm going with the former because P-town is full of puzzles
This is a good scan except that there's a scratch over part of it.
If this is bad to share please tell me before I keep doing so.

I don't have the cards, I have found where you got it from - the How Cards Work back, but only have low res. Can anyone do me a really high res scan of that part of the card?
The stadium is bigger than that, we can fit the piece from the tour guide onto it, and I wouldn't be surprised if I can't get some of the other pieces on as well, this piece is the back bone of the map, the central piece.
Thanks for your help.

POTUS, love the trees, I hadn't spotted that, I think it might be where Silk Road goes, looking closer there are also two buildings overlapping, and another on a roof!
I've obviously missed a bit of map somewhere because I don't have the bigger piece that you are using - can you tell me where it came from so I can add it all into the map.
Thanks

Awesome Mima!!!
I suggest that Lang Stadium is near the planetarium. I think Games Plaza should be South of there, near the ocean.
Also, the card "The Master of Secrets" has a tree anomoly. No other picturs have trees growing right out of the sides of skyscrapers! Normal trees ARE hidden by buildings in the foreground . . .

Here is what I have of an overall above ground map so far, you will need to look at it with the subway map (included to make it easier), I have marked the stations where we have more information or map pieces, along with a couple of guesses. There are also some spare pieces which I have not managed to locate. I can update this as people find things.
