I somehow doubt that a flag for a country can be found where the countries name begins with an apostraphe(I'm prepared to be inundated with appropriate countries now.)
What I was saying is that the corrected grammar would mean that the card is short on one flag.(Going on pure aesthetics and no country begining with an apostrophe). Then to make the card look nice and symmetrical again the apostophe could be left out and, "countries" changed to "countrys" and "was" replacing "is". It still makes sense this way.
But I'm 99% sure I'm wrong. I'm just being belligerent because my head hurts.

thats a grammar, not spelling mistake. I'm positive the answer is Libya.

Because I don't think we agree on the meaning of the last line about the grammar mistake. Spelling is not grammar. I think it has to do with the absence of an apostrophe.
Do you agree?

I still stand by it. Look at the computer puzzle (i haven't checked the latest on the thread though) - that is not a one word solve.

And that might make it refer to Bolivia's Beni Dept. rather than to Libya, taking into account the possible emphasis on 'was'.

If you take the grammar error and correct it to "country's" it throws the allignment of the grid out. Because I'm fairly sure that they will not be able to find a country that begins with an apostraphe. However another grammar error could be mixing up is and was. This way the clue would become, "Which countrys flag was green" rather than "which countries flag is green". And this sticks to the allignment of the grid correctly.

Are you reffering to "countries" as the error, or something else? If it's something else I think we would like a spoiler. This puzzle has a lot to it, especially with the anagram dthought found. I don't think something like that can just be a coincidence. |
Oops! My mistake. I thought the error was in the first word, however, when checking this, the flag in question is used by two separate countries and i'd used the wrong one. Therefore on looking at the solve again I can see that the word 'countries' is used out of context. You are correct is saying it should be 'country's' in this case.

Although it is not a country, the Beni Dept. of Bolivia also has a solid green flag.
