Themes

Yeah those are the 2 main fictional Nancy's that come to mind for me. So Dickens, Shakespeare is mentioned in Ep1, and I have Mark Twain's ghost for "comes down to get warm" in Ep7 fittingly from the tale 'A Ghost Story' same as the Eps title.

Another theme would be fast food:
Ep3 Subway
Ep5 KFC "Double Down"
Ep6 Popeyes (gravestone) + Mulligan eating burger and drink
Ep8 Flying birdie could be a McDonald's golden arch sign 'm'

************
But the way i use themes is such:
Ep 2 suspected to end in Columbus Circle.
Columbus was a character in Zombieland.
Noteable Bill Murray cameo.
And if Bill Murray is a recurring Theme, this location is a legitimate end location for the vid.

Ep2. Rushmore. Mt Rushmore appears in Toms flightpath
Ep3 Groundhog Day. Fafa the Groundhog
Ep6 Little shop of Horrors. The dentist in the comic, though Steve Martin was the actual dentist in the movie.
Ep7 Ghostbusters. ghostshooters
Lost in Translation. Was there a moment somewere it mentioned it was translating Toms words?

Bill Murray is also a famous NY resident, and has appeared in the Mario and Fafa webblog videos, same as many other themes ive mentioned.(Lost,Thor, horror movies, video games), so is definite part of their interests.

Re: Themes

I did pick that up too. This puzzle not only involves these, but other movies as well and heavly in all the arts arts (people in writting, painting, & acting). If you are going for visuals then heck Nancy looks like Nancy from 'Oliver'. So I believe where ever that chest is has to include all of these.

Based on the solution of a different hunt ive been doing, I recommend examining te themes across all the videos.

The Hunt i was doing was broken down into many puzzles each with a major theme. This theme then had minor references in all the other puzzles.

For instance 'horror movies'. There are very obvious references here, Ep7 called "Ghost story" the ram o'cam from Evil Dead, the repeat name 3 times to summon ghost Crothers (candyman,candyman,candyman..).

'Nightmare on Elm St' seems to have the most references and possible a major theme.
In Ep1 Captain calls Mulligan a 'Nancy' the heroine from the films. Mulligan worries hes having a nightmare and dreaming in Ep6.

Others could be sewers. Ninja turtles(the keg turtle, black Tom is a Ninja), the sillouettes of castles with flags could mean Super Mario(not to mention Mario and Fafa), and the repeated toilet references gotta pee, take a crap.

sword movies:The star wars tombstone, highlander(paths meant to be One), Toms sword. King Arthur.

severed hands:star wars(Lukes hand), p.oker hands, dead mans hand trophy, Evil Dead(hand replaced with chainsaw), Crothers hand.

Comic book characters?? Presidents(rushmore,Ford st)??New York set movies(King Kong,Ghostbusters)??

Yup but, bare in mind that this puzzle has many clues leading to Columbia who is the symbol of The New World.

I understand that - and Mulligan's reference to Santa rather than Satan (ref to St. Nicholas Ave. perhaps).

But I don't think it's 'the spot' - particularly, I think it's possibly part of the tail of the big 'image' we're supposed to come up with still, but I've yet to completely justify it. My mapping skills are subpar to say the least.

I hear you. So far my ship shape is in a different area. I think the whole Santa reference is something else which works out perfectly in my area. Like I have said this puzzle is not straight and narrow which is why we are having a heck of a time with it. I really have to find the time to get to my local and finish taking pictures. You really can't find them on line.
Not only are the clues leading to Columbia but anything in history/symbol related to 'Columbia'.
I have no doubt that I know where the majority of Eps. #3 takes place. No one has posted it yet on here nor on Tweleve. My personal life is involved in it. Strangely enough.
Like I wrote on my blog what I am not sure is if all these clues pile up and every single one lead to that one spot. If it does I have an area in mind which makes sense and as to why a lot of clues do repeat themselves over and over. Yes, we do need to know the exact spot to make a contact call.

Package received?

Does anyone have a picture of something that was sent in the mail from the comic book PO Box address? Even just the envelope or box it was supposed to have arrived in? Did anyone dig on the Beach in Coney Island?

Searched the statue in Pelham Bay Park today according to the comic book clue. No luck though. I was sure Missry would have found it by now, seems to have the best info. Didn't I read somewhere that the spot is clearly marked? Does it have to be near the docks? Did anyone ever confirm receiving things in the mail from the P.O. Box address? I never received anything but my letter never came back.

Confirmed , received a package back.

Now, I'm claiming any fact here - this is merely conjecture, but given some of the "clues" in episode 8...

I think there's some subtle acknowledgements throughout the site and the videos (as pointed out by other board members here) to Columbia University, as well as the raised 'L', 'O', 'U', and 'G' in the site banner.

.

Either that or the web designer's a Lou Gehrig fan

Whatever
Getting caught on little stuff

I'm still trying to see things from a wide angle and slowly zoom in, since that's how I've solved puzzles in the past, but sometimes a little clue will open up a whole new perspective. I keep thinking about what I think is a little clue right now, though I don't really think that it's gonna open anything up. Still, I'm not making much headway any other way. At the end of the poker video, one of the narrators says "It's what makes poker the fastest growing sport in the world today. Winners, losers, hands folded, arms chopped off, bombs, skulls, grog and fish. For Leslie Sebastian Charles, I'm Al Lukovich. Thanks for joining us here at the WPPPT." What stands out is the "hand folded" part. Nobody folds any hands. From the way the pirates play, I can't imagine that they ever fold a hand. Is this just a puppetmaster joke? Like, they couldn't possible do puppets with their hands folded? Like I said, probably nothing but it's stuck in my head.
