what is the ground support vent today? The old vent isn't working for me, so guessing it's not up (though I'm gonna double check the info in case.)

Hmm I haven't voted from my FB account and no one has voted from this IP, let's see what I see...
Yes. I can still vote.

Actually, I voted about a half hour ago. I think it might just be on a timer as to when you can vote. |
Once a FB user votes, they're locked out of the poll. All you can see is the results. I'm guessing this is what you're seeing. |
Yeah, I'm seeing the current results. I was just trying to make the point that the voting wasn't disabled or final. I didn't do such a hot job, huh? ^^"

I tried to vote with my gf's account but just saw results screen. Maybe only one vote per IP address?

I dunno..... I logged into a different facebook acct and had to 'like' the page to see the polls, and could not place a vote. I am guessing voting is finished. I live near Houston so I will be heading that way shortly just in case.

Thanks, Billhouse. Well, I guess I could've planned to go 5.5hrs to Miami, but seems like Punxtr deserves a shot Without advance notice, kinda hard anyway. Guess 42E listened to "why don't they do any drops in my city?" hahah.
As I said in other thread, suspicious today's drop might be fireflies, not icefliies...
Guess I'll have to join a chat or something to keep abreast. If there's more info later, happy to be net support for anyone.

Can anyone tell me why I can't see the countdown? If I click the Facebook link, all I see is what looks like a screenshot. Is this because I don't have an account? (I can't see any voting either.)
It's making me super anxious not knowing what's going on |
I don't have a Facebook account either. The voting is for members only, plus they have to "like" 5Gum to be able to vote. I rely on the kindness of strangers to keep me updated on things like this. I've heard that the voting ends today, somewhere around 3pm Pacific? *shrug* Then the real question will be whether the details about the deaddrop itself will be restricted to those who participated in the voting -- that would be harsh! |

Go Houston!
I am curious about how this all went down last time, since I am very close to houston I would love to try for this. Should I be closer to downtown when the timer ends? |
It really all depends on whether they do the drop today or just the voting. In Atlanta I happened to be 3 blocks away from the coordinates when they released them but that was several hours after the timer had ended since they did it two cities at a time. I would try and be somewhere central that you can move to other areas of the city fairly easily.

Yes, I've wondered if it's only the voting or the drop as well. It would make sense if they needed some time before the end of the vote and the drop, though they've not said either way.
And yes, it is that "SPAAAAACE!" element I was referring to as well (though I did say I was going stargazing when my main purpose for being out this weekend is to watch the shower. Not stars. For most people, all elements of things outside our world are lumped together. I could see them using this, tying in a meteor shower).
Even if this ARG is entirely gum-related and/or not sci-fi at all outside of the log files (which would make for a fantastic graphic novel), I still enjoy the spacey/techy theme they've got going. And the art teams have done stellar jobs.
