My vote is for the original design, sans GITD paint. Shame, but the original design is better, IMHO.

UPDATE Mon 4th July 2011
Hope you US folks have a good Independence Day.

Wow. 4th July. All those years ago you were finally free of the Tyranny of the British! Very Happy I hope you all have a great day and have a beer for me!

I'm afraid we've come to a crossroads as far as the EOLC pin is concerned.

My manufacturer reckons that the GITD areas are too slight to the give the GITD enamel a chance to glow. The paint glows by having tiny flecks of the GLOW material within the mixture. The fine lines of the green 'Triangle' element will make these areas very faint.

So. to the point if you want GLOW. Then we are going to have to go withh the revised design (attached below)

If you want to keep the design as it was originally, then GLOW won't really work. I'm happy to go with either so I'd like a show of hands before I pull the lever! The quicker we all come to a resolution, the quicker I can get these made. Let me know soon, guys. G

UPDATE 26th Jun 2011
Manufacturing is go.

Just thought I'd let you know that the EOLC pin has been submitted for production. I'll have to sign off artwork and in 3-4 weeks time I will have them in my hands. Pics will follow and then shipping.

Still working on packaging for the time being. G

I'm afraid that will have to be a DIY project. I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with! G

One observation...

The inner glowing line on the triangle on your pin appears to be the same width as the outer line.

Looking at the below image it appears the inner line should be nearly twice as thick (maybe 1.75 times). Is it too late to change something like this? I'll take one either way but would like it as accurate as possible.

Thanks,

P.S. Changed image to link. Image was much bigger then I thought it was.

Thanks for the heads up but rest assured! This has already been addressed on the final 2D pin art. I altered it a couple of days after the original posting after some scrutiny and a good nights sleep. It also makes for a better area or 'well' to fill with the GITD enamel. The 3D model I posted is an earlier version for illustration only, and it really serves no purpose to alter the model at this stage. I'd prefer it to be as accurate as possible too. Cheers, man. Update 22nd June 2011

I am still currently waiting for a quote on GITD green for the Pin but TBH it doesn't look good. I've had another quote from an overseas manufacturer and they can't work with GITD enamels either!

I reckon, because of the extra costs, going with a straight pin and keeping the prices the same as the Flynn's pins is the best option. If you really wanted the pin to GITD then you could go the Coggy route, get some GITD paint and get creative with the pin! I will probably be doing this myself. If it's acrylic or water based, it won't affect the pin so it could always be topped up or removed easily.

UPDATE.
I've chased the GITD quote and it will only lift the costs by around $2 per pin! I expected more TBH but the enamel paint is available in smaller batches to my manufacturer! I think that the little extra cost for GITD will make all the difference if you are wearing the pin inside a dark arcade (for instance)! So I'm gonna go ahead with the GITD run of 100. Prototype Image included at the bottom of this post

I've costed everything up in GBP £ as that's the currency I need 'Donations' in. I've included the equivalent amount in USD $ for a guide only, but I'd still need currency in GBP £, via PayPal as before. All these prices include shipping.

1 Pins £13 ($21)
2 Pins £21 ($34)
3 Pins £27 ($44)
4 Pins £31 ($50)

I now need a 'confirmation PM' from all takers of the EOLC pin. Please include:

Username
Real Name
Postal Address
No of pins required
Email Address

...and I'll add you to the Confirmed List. Once the pins are ready for shipping, I'll send an email out with 'Donation' instructions. Once I receive said 'Donations', I'll ship out a package via Dumont.

Anyway, just on the verge of getting artwork signed off. I'll let you all know when Thunderbirds are go! G

I've asked for a quote for GITD paint on the pin, nonetheless. My manufacturer is looking into it. He mentioned that the issue is to get the Paint in smaller batches from his supplier ie. he's gotta buy a minimum of X litres of the stuff from his supplier, when he only needs 200ml for our use. He's gonna look into it for me.

nice thanks for checking
it would be cool
actually bought some cheap Gitd paint and might use that on the 2nd one just to see if it stays well. either way awesome
