sorry to resurrect this thread, but i found something that might be interesting for necklace/chip owners. I might be buying this from my buddy. some of you might want to make something similar. if interested i'll ask him to make more, but i don't know if he will.

The light functionality can be seen in the video. for lack of better words, the blue light "throbs" like in the movie.

BTW, this is the stand that has the light, not the chip itself.

if yo look at the first post on the Flynn key chain post you might be able to see the slight differences in the necklace. individual chips are also available to add on the back of your existing necklace as well.

The left is the front of the necklace as we've known it (I think more detail was added) and then the back is new. This is almost more screen accurate than the actual prop as some of the details were CG afterwards. although the chip did have two sides and these two side reflect the original design. the original was done with decals, this is engraved and painted. much nicer than the original in my opinion.

sorry to reply so late steve.
been wearing it every day. as with all ball-chains, the clasp is not the greatest mechanism and i've already lost the chain once in my sleep. amazingly the chip got stuck in my shirt and i heard it fall.

tricky, tight clasp, but the chain length and smaller ball links are nice.
really a handsome piece.

I also lost the little clasp for the necklace (have the necklace and chip though). I put it on, walked around for a day, then when I took it off at a mirror on one side of the room and walked to the other side, it was gone. Of course, this was a morning later, and try as I could I was unable to find the necklace clasp.

However, I was considering doing something rash with the chip (gold-plating it), and if I do I can replace the chain with a gold one that is more stylish. I have gold-plating solution and a power supply, so I was going to give it a go. But I figured I'd see if there's anyone else who thought of this...
