The extra dash is just part of the title bar on your browser; a dash always precedes the browser name. If you look there now you'll see something like "View topic - TROGL - Mozilla Firefox".
Good lateral thinking though.

Hi all,
I'm new to unfiction, but I've been following all this Super 8 stuff as closely as I can (both on Super 8 News and here). I just noticed today that when you bring up the STIES website, the browser title bar at the very top of the screen has 5 dashes and then 1 dash - 51. These forums tend to be a pile of random info, so I'm only adding to the pile. But I never noticed it before - it certainly supports the idea that the PDP-11 is from Area 51. |
Looks like that happened today as my browser's history had it as ----- from when i was on there yesterday - Good find! |
I just went onto STIES but there are still just 5 dashes. I don't see a sixth one anywhere..

Interesting... but I'm going with TROGL = cave or underground. TROGL being written on the badge, hidden under the picture means this person was assigned to the underground facility at Area 51. The secret underground facility is where things went wrong, prompting the move to Ohio. The train has our creature and computer equipment which includes PDP-11s. Our IN Game PDP-11 is either one left at Area 51, or more likely, one salvaged from the train wreck and privately put up on the internet.
That's my current take on things.

USPHM
Okay I admit that there is an UNCANNY allusion to prospect harbor Maine. The home of the last US sardine Cannery which closed this year. But other than that was there something else to look up? It has an old lighthouse, retired sardine cannery and a bell. Not sure what the connection is?

Played a little with "TROGL "
Replaced every character with one what follows
So TROGL became USPHM
Googled USPHM braught me to a page
w w w . icegate.gov.in/jsp/port_code.jsp?alpha=P
description USPHM
Port code = USPHM
Country code = US
Portname = Prospect Harbor
then googled Prospect Harbor
well look for your self...
Maybe means nothing... just interresting and wanted to let you know ..
( Harbor , Fish , Coelacanth ????? )

Since the circled clue was Binder and the darkened word was connected to back. Couldit mean the backwards words- Frank Buck?
The words that were backwards and on the binder. I guess we won't know until Thursday. |
Or the lost binder that fell off of his old Moby Dick book..
As in I put another clue in the Back of the binder .. or look at the back binder
or look through the binders of certain books or I wrote something on a back binder and glued it back on the book .. or har hehe har..
bongos in my head ...Jane
