just to say I had the chance at a pr screening to view the tron night footage again. Made me rethink a couple of things - the 'real world' scenes worked a helluva lot better and i could appreciate the grid scenes more.
Best thing of all was the sound system in the small screening room...ooof!

The only saving grace fro the glasses is that you can change out the lenses to normal ones afterwards, but that will cost extra money. The record for expensive useless tron branded stuff goes with those $800 stripper heels.
Hold up, where were Tron heels? I might need those in my life. After Tron branded fruit pies of course. (: I love pie. I'm thinking Tron pie/cheesecake will be my next project now!
Also, anyone else think those 3D Oakley's would be worth it if they came in prescriptions? That so far is the worst part of 3D, wearing my glasses messes up the effect ever so slightly but without my glasses it would all just be very pretty colored blobs. I really want to see Tron in 3D IMAX on opening night but I'm tempted to see it in 2D on opening night since driving at night after a 3D movie is my own special hell.
Here you go, and oakley (except with some lens coatings) will do pretty much all their products as RX, or you can take them to your local eyeware maker if they have the catalog for it.
Remember they are just rebranded shades off their normal line so once they have served their purpose as 3d glasses you could always have the lenses replaced.
A friend of my is willing to give me his Tron poster and Rinzler card that we got from the Tron night. If anybody is interested PM me and I'll send it to the first response.
But instead of sending me the money for shipping, turn that into a donation to the unFiction site.
Please keep in mind that unFiction can only accept payments (I believe) from PayPal and major credit cards.
Give me your location and I'll get an estimate on the cost to send it from east coast Canada, try and make the donation around the same price.
I am only gonna get the poster next week, most likely Monday or Tuesday. I'll ship it out a day or two after then.

A bit late posting this (been a bit busy), but I just wanted to publicly say "Thank you" to Phylos for hooking me up with a +1 for my gf and I. It's actions like this that have made my first ARG experience a blast, and have cemented this community as the best.
Thanks again!

At least it's a fairly unbiased overview of the footage shown.
Not many assumptions made...

Hey guys just piping in with a tidbit on TRON night.
Like everybody ellse I thought the guard programs were saying "games" and "rectify"
According to Latino Review it's "games" and "work deferment"
As for the price, $150 is relatively cheap for Oakley's, so that's a good thing (ymmv). Except fort this point:

Do you prefer active shutter glasses over polarized glasses? Because of my experience, the latter is more prone to giving headache - the former requires no machinery/battery, is entirely passive, and both eyes see images simultaneously (not very fast eye switching).
Polarized 3D is, save the fact you still need physical glasses, the best form of 3D out there yet. Full colour, full resolution, full framerate, least 'synthetic'.

You know what? If they were Tron-inspired sunglasses, and looked actually Tron-ish (not just with a blue 0 on the side) then maybe I could understand. I would think it was kind of dumb, but I could see it being cool. Hell, I think that that Tron watch is pretty sexy. But you can't even use these as sunglasses. It's just so stupid!
I'll second that

That...is the stupidest thing I've seen in a very long time. Aside from some of the crap my students come up with, of course.
Where to begin?
1. They don't look remotely Tron-ish. Not at all.
2. They look stupid.

I just...I can't wrap my mind around it. I mean, Tron shaving cream would make more sense than this. Tron Hostess fruit pies would be more realistic (with real glowing cherry center!). Tron kitchen appliences I could get behind.

Right, I'm going to stop before I have an aneurysm.
