Re: Lillian, Ohio
Collecting informations about the city
This instance appears to be a Filler (wildcard) - In case Cities were missed I guess, You can replace it with any thing
http://localtimes.info/North_America/United_States/kraten/Ohio/ and get a response.
even on this site Lillian does not show up if you got to Ohio first in the list of cities... - Dang the missinformational information on the interweb.

Starsky and Hutch used the same word salad late '70s.
according to http://starskyhutchfiles.net/compendium/page72/page72.html :
"The facts regarding the situation remain the same, state the authorities. Details concerning the action have been given a preliminary investigation but it is felt that only by a more detailed study will the facts become known. An immediate investigation is assumed and indications are that some new light will be shed on the situation in the near future. Available facts seem vague, but authorities feel that time will disclose some means of arriving at a solution. Future plans, of necessity, have great bearing on the situation as it now stands. Decisions will be made of the actual planning of the project."

figid?
Not only was the word misspelled but the headline went on to say that the figid weather made people happy. Who would be happy about storm caused power outages? Too bad we cannot get a better close-up to read the whole article.

WOW Kosmo, that is a very impressive research, thank you.
My doubt is if the journal post by Will_Quick are in the set too, I can read the text from the Back to the Future but I was looking at the news and the "Amnesty Brings Challenge, Opportunity for Solidarity" is a news from the year 1986 as the link http://articles.latimes.com/1986-10-01/news/mn-3800_1 show. And the picture of the jazz man I believe his name, is a little difficult to read is Steve Allen, although he was done some terrific stuff the only thing I can thing off is the similarities between his name and the Steven Allan Spielberg . |
It's on the set. I took the picture from the behind the scenes pics section of Super8news.com

After research: it's from the Spielbergs movie "Back to the future": http://www.cryan.com/daily/20091027.jsp (Kinda "lorem ipsem" placeholder)
Compare the attached flyer from the movie (found here).
So, it's a nice easter egg.
UPDATE. Was used by Supernatural too: http://www.supernaturalwiki.com/index.php?title=The_Journal_(decoding)[/quote]
Hi all, new here. Speaking of Back To The Future, Tannen County might be a shout out to Biff Tannen... one of the best characters from Back To The Future.

I wonder, if they will sell it in Auction like they did with LOST...
Anyway, thank you and all Weirton people for posting the pics of the newspaper (I am actually reading junkie, especially if it's about a fake textes, hehe).
Btw, it looks like this text-placeholder was also used in Twin Peaks:
http://jorkel.com/community/topic.cfm?topicid=2881
So perhaps it's just more "English" placeholder than just "Lorem Ipsum", but anyway funny thing with two Spielberg movies. I wonder now, which textes are usually used in such scenes with newspapers or magazins...

The same issue of the Lillian Journal was in the paper box and on the shelf. I don't think there was another issue. I've heard that the whole movie takes place in one day in 1979. I don't know how accurate this is, but, if so, it would make sense that there would be just this one issue. I only got to see the top half of the front page - so I don't know what was printed on the rest of it.

Hehe, thank you, Rocket Mountaineer.
Btw, in this context we have to distinguish between the placeholder textes and textes, which were actually written (like headers and sometimes whole articles). Because since (if) they aren't copied, but really written, there was an intention behind.
So we have to be very aware about non-placeholder textes.
And we will appreciate every further picture of such newspapers

Sorry for double post, but: AHAHA!
I even found, what the great text is over and over citated in this fake newspaper for Spielbergs movie "Super8":

| The facts regarding the situation remain the same, state the authorities. Details concerning the antics have been given a preliminary investigation but it is felt that only by a more detailed study will the true facts become known... |
