The main thing that stands out to me is inconsistency, and Josh character incongruncy.
If he is so inexperienced in computer blogging --- than how is he so adapt at the PDP-11?
There is something not quite right here. Either we are missing something very important, or the PMs are making this character very incongruent.

Someone pointed out in another thread that the voice on the 800 number recording might not have been Josh. That was something we just assumed.
The same may apply here.
What if we're assuming Josh is using the PDP-11 command prompt? What if he's just using this Remote View 2.7 console to check and print his email? The PDP-11 simulator is just a window, which we've all learned we can easily move to see behind it. If Josh does go to the site, i agree that he wouldn't know enough to use the command prompt.

also, the voices on the trailer and the voices in the MP3 are identical.

THX, Xeno.
While the case appears to be that of a musical instrument, I have not found one that matches the one in the photo
However, as (incorrectly) mentioned, Super 8 and 16mm cameras DO come in hard cases.
I no longer have my Super 8mm cameras, but I do have my 16mm Canon Scoopic:
Just to clarify, not ALL Super8 cameras come in hard cases, I have a Canosound 814-xls that came with a soft case, and a Minolta sound that didn't come with a case at all.

Edit: I've never had a S8 camera, or case, nor have I had a small musical instrument case as is theorized on the aforementioned page. Can you shed some light on this being a S8 case?
I accually do belive its a trumpet case now, memories have surged and it does appear to be the hardcase Raz suggested.
Most super 8's were carried in a leather satchel type.
But now the musical inspiration l link is more tantalizing with our golden ratio soundfile....*goes to ponder that*

Lil Lady;
It has been speculated that that box/container was one used for housing musical instruments, i.e. woodwind instrument of some sort.

I'll bite, other than the clock being listed in two different sections on CL (and its noted difference from all other listings),why/how do you feel there was a 7th ad?
on the pictures in the background he (Josh) was making a list of the items he was posting and we could see 5, 6, 7..... but we only identified 6 listings.... I wonder what the 7th item was?
Well has anyone considered the small grey suitcase that most items are pictured apon? too small to hold clothing and just about the size of a super 8 camera.. heh take a look

Photo on page 24
When I look at those photos, I see on the left a front-end shot of men carrying a cloth(?)-draped casket. The one on the right appears to be someone (Josh?) laying something perhaps on it.

If you flip the negatives in the top right of the latest photo, adjust the brightness, and quiet the pixilation, you can clearly see a man's face looking into a small box... just look. Also, on the right side I think it's another man's head and shoulders, face down... very odd.
I would really like to post it here, but the process of attaching a pic on this site is ridiculous. Check it out though!! This is definitely NOT an accident!!
I don't think it's a negative.
Trying different filters only causes the image to become unstable.
Here's my best shot:
I know this isn't much, however I instantly recognized something when I saw the photo negative. For those having a hard time seeing it, it's a vertical shot, but laying sideways. The person looking in the box could very well be the same person from the free-frame in the trailer.
Obviously we can't see much, but my first assumption when viewing the trailer screenshot was that this was the person who recorded/found the video and the photo negative may confirm this. Just my 2 pennies.
Ok, the photo-shopped shot of the negatives isn't showing up in the quote, but it is on page 24 for those interested.
