i think what they are looking at is a spaceshuttle blasting by the moon and the dad is like "look son those men are astronauts up there!"

Twitter background has been changed, previously mooted moons definitely Saturn based. RP logo still debatable:

probably a result of the printing process, but the t-shirt really gives me the impression that the moon is actually a chunk breaking free of the overall circle. I don't think it's the intent, but I can't shake the impression when I look at it.
I can understand how apple juice is getting that idea, but when you look at the attached image in the OP ( link) you can see the kid is definitely holding a rocket pop. It's also interesting to note how much clearer the image is in that shot of the t-shirt than my t-shirt.

Did anyone else notice that the black circle image behind the stars and the moon on Rocketpoppeteers.com looks strangely like a planet? looks to be something of the likes of Titan, and it even has lighted edges to look like a planet. Just thought this was interesting.

Also played around with those images - Difficult to be certain, but I think they are a contrail for the UFO (best term for it-May be rocket/poppet/comet) the chaps seem to be pointing at on the moon. Instead of cutting out the moon, keep it in and line them all up, you'll see what I mean.

UFO?
I think apple juice may be onto something.
A few minutes of messing round and I got this, the smudges definitely fit together. The shape does look like the rocket pops (the point is facing left, the tail (with what looks like exhaust in stead of a stick) is facing right).
I thought at first it might be bad printing/aged look but they seem to be the same on different shirts and they line up to well to be a coincidence.
So yeah, can anyone get a better version? The 'tail' is to far forwards in mine but I hope you can see the general image.

yes, but imagine if that pop was turned onto its side and rotated so that we were looking at it from the side.

i believe the objects to be rocket pops or whatever the lollies are being called. if you look at them they appear to have a kind of stick at the back end, as if we were viewing them on their side.
(sorry, haven't posted in ages but i have been lurking away )

This is the only observation that diverts me from the position that this is a space fleet the son and father are looking at. I think it may just be a very bad screenprint job across the board. Or perhaps maybe the images were not screenprinted properly and they are looking at some sort of fleet. |
Or maybe just an 'aged' look for what's supposed to be a vintage shirt design print?
