It sounds like you understand what an ARG is; however, if you have any doubt, be sure to check out Imbri's
ARG Quickstart Guide.
A few years ago, the BBC developed a
wonderful single-player ARG called
Jamie Kane. You can play at your own pace, and the 15-day game always starts at the very beginning. Although it's not a traditional ARG (it's pretty linear, no community collaboration, etc.), it is still a great game to start with. Some people have said that the first email of the game no longer sends when you sign up; if that happens, contact customer support. Trust me, the game is worth it.
Of course, the
best place to go to find new games is the
News & Rumors section of the forums. New games get posted there all the time, and games in that forum have usually not been running long, so they are easy to catch up on. Then, you can play along with the community and immerse yourself within an ARG!
Many games get reported on
ARGNet, the major news site for ARGs, so you may want to check there for the latest ARG news. Also beneficial for ARG news is the weekly
ARGNetcast, a podcast about ARGs.
Welcome to the community!
