Well, this marks day four of hunting my area (I live 20 min away by train) with no luck. As relatively small as the area is, it's still a large piece of turf, with numerous hidey places. I haven't seen weird footprints in the snow, so I haven't found evidence of either a hider, or fellow hunters.
However, today, I did catch a view of my area in the dawnlight that was -amazing-. After this contest is done, I'm going back to hike just because it's so damn beautiful.
Good luck one and all.

'as far as she knows'...
well the virtual coin is definitely claimed already, so there's at most 22, and since she's wrong on that, who knows at this point how many physical coins have been found. No one's got a straight answer, just directions to the website, and I haven't seen anyone link to or mention the page that actually lists which coins are found.

thanks for the phone number, she said that the latest the coin will be placed is midnight on the 21st, so it's more than likely there now, there's no way of knowing wich reagon what coin was found, and as far as she knows, all 23 coins are still up for grabs. (and good luck)

The number you can call is the one they gave out for the Virtual Hunt on the web page.. 1-866-576-HUNT
Usually the operators don't tell you much.. let me know if you get anything out of them haha

I think these forums are probably the highest ranked forums in google searching for the contest. So this is probably it
I've seen some 'anonymous', 'ambiguous' questions in yahoo answers asking people to solve the 'riddles' (the clues) without referring to the contest... but otherwise, nothing really.

Well I've known exactly where the New York coin is for 2 days now.. but I'm too far away to go down there and check without knowing if it's there or has been placed yet.. and I'm sure if it was placed someone got it, cause the clues got way too easy at the end..
So has anyone been looking in New York?
And any other sites that people have been posting on for help?

Yes, I am hunting in the south, although there might be more than one in the south. Not gonna spill the beans, although if we are in the same region might see you out and about!!

When I called, the operator said the found coins would be posted on the dr.pepper website. I have yet to find any section that might show which coins were found, and the virtual coin announcement is still missing from the site.
I have no way to get to the area of my coin unless I can pursuade a friend to spend a few hours searching through nature...
'A few blocks' radius? wow... that's rough.

I wish there was some way to find out if coins have been found.....hate to buy like there is no tomorrow just to find out someone found it two days earlier. Also...what is the deal with putting it out before the 21st...that is really not fair!
I am trying not to get too confused by conflicting clues...keeping my nose to the grindstone..can anyone tell me if they get more specific towards the end or are they still "go east/west/north/south from this random location"?

Yeah, my stomach's been one big pool of Dr. Pepper for the last month. When I called in (just to see what was on the other line) a couple hours after the virtual number was released there was already a message saying someone found that sucker. Frankly, that must've been one lucky guess because the rules said the specific location needed to be named, and as of that date we all had the clue referring to south of the canal, which is still a pretty broad area. When I called again yesterday for kicks and giggles, I got an actual operator that told me that all the coins were indeed placed as of yesterday, but wouldn't tell me anything else (like if any were found or not). Feel free to call and ask yourselves.
As far as whether or not the clues get more specific, I've figured out as of the 28th clue that its within a radius of several blocks, so I'm definitely not bopping around cities anymore. (And yeah, unless I see a news article referring to someone finding a coin in Oil Creek Park or wherever, I'd take that with a grain of salt, too)
I just wish I could find out whether or not the physical coin for my region was claimed or not, just so I can save the 3 hour drive.
