It looks like mini versions of the main image to me as well (timely discussion this, I got this card today), but there does appear to be a bit of variation - unless that's just my eyes!

As I said in the other thread, to me it looks like miniature versions of the main image on the card.
(in case it matters, mine's not a wave0.5)

OK, agent Lex disagrees with me, but i'm thinking that 011-Revelation has tiny chinese/japanese characters on the top, and a few other cards from all 4 waves look like they could say something. *squints* yep!

Hahahaha! I've thought about this passage loads of times since I started playing Perplex City, and especially once it became clear that there were Risk references everywhere!
Worth looking at the thread for the card #237 too, there are thoughts on the writing on that.

I'll try and get a labelled version but you can actually see where the text is on the scan in the card topic. If you look in the left hand border in the middle, half way up the card, it's just a faint grey line.
The text on the card itself (i.e not on the scan) is big enough to make out that its text, and not a smudge, but small enough so that you can't actually read it without a magnifying glass!
I think it would be pretty difficult to get an actual scan of it and it might be against the rules...
Someone suggested it as a postcode... although I think the full stops may indicate its something else... maybe a book chapter or passage reference?

I spent about 30 minutes squinting at it trying to figure out what it said but knew I needed a proper magnifying glass or something!
I remembered mind candy saying about using mincroscopic writing in some of their cards (I think everyone started desperately looking in the "shuffled" border) and so I thought I'd have a peek at the new silvers!
Seems there are a lot more clues in the new wave!

Right I've looked through my 30x Microscope and can see nothing on 419
Thick black line under Perplexcity logo.

I don't see anything suspicious on my two wave 4 silvers, 253 (Sightseeing) and 254 (Escape) though I don't have a magnifying glass handy to check in detail.
I also checked my 240 (Elucidate), since it's part of the same set as 237, but didn't see anything there either. That said, it is a wave 0.5 one, so things may have changed since.
