Could the list of numbers possibly be a book cipher based on one of the websites, or even just a simple substitution cipher. Just noticed the repetition of the sequence 27.55.25.

Thanks J
I removed the space and it worked!
Why is it so sensitive! With only 3 chances each day it is just so frustrating. It can so easily put you off the scent. You think your answer's right only to get an "incorrect".
It makes me want to take my hat off to all those heros who were playing back in Oct and Nov. It must have been virtually impossible.
Thanks again.

Definitely remove the space from boingboing, that's the solve that worked for me anyway.

The answers you gave are correct - perhaps remove the space from the last one. If that doesn't work, maybe try adding a couple of dozen exclamation marks to each answer, that always works well I hear.
As for being on holiday...yes, they are. I'm sure that they'll respond upon their return.

I have now emailed support only to get the response that they are on holiday until 3rd Jan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here we all are trying to solve these puzzle, only to discover that the whole of Perplex City is away on holiday!!!
Can anyone help with where I'm going wrong? Do they want the whole URL of each web site?
I can't believe how sensitive the answer input is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sat with 4 browser open with each site on, so I know I'm right!

Makes sence really... |
I was my first thought, actually. There are the right amount of numbers there for it to be split into 7 seperate IP addresses.
But none of them actually respond to anything, one falls within a reserved private network range, and that 500 is completely out of place.

ChalcoDoror,
How in the world did you find #2?
The closest I can get is this page.
But it's the wrong colors, wrong graphics and I can't duplicate it in the 'Internet Archive Wayback Machine' for Nov 9, 2004.
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://slashdot.com
(Sorry, that url refuses to let me make a correct link out of it, so you'll need to copy and paste the whole string.)

Next to Kurts name running down the page from halfway to the bottom, you can see it as a line on the pic is this number:
27.55.25.34.4.43.500.15.18.55.13.1.10.30.56.55.39.21.7.16.27.55.25.69.29.35.62.55.
A kloo???? |
Well, they could just be coordinates for creating a rough outline of the Perplex City skyline... but it's likely that there's more to it than that.
