Right....so..... Puzzles in an ARG are metapuzzles as an ARG is in itself a kind of a puzzle?

Or, puzzles that lead to parts of a "Jigsaw-puzzle-key" you need to have to get to the ultimate puzzle. Would you call these meta-metapuzzles?

metapuzzle

metapuzzle - A puzzle whose solution mechanism requires the solving of several other puzzles first.

TimeHunt www.timehunt.com is a great example of a site that has many individual puzzles to conquer, with a single puzzle on each of the nine Milky Way planets that require not only putting several puzzle results together, but trying to figure out which results go with which metapuzzle and how.

AKA: meta (not to be confused with 'meta' posting).
