Probably completely unrelated; but in the firebox catalogue P21 there is a message on the bottom right of the page which refers you to page 14. On Page 14 there are several retro game pads. I thought one of these games (probably more likely the arcade ones) might accept the cheat KJIC on the high scores table or something?
Or have I watched beautiful mind once too many times? Just a thought!

Aha! That, of course, makes perfect sense. I should have considered that possibility as there are two obvious partial letters at the top left and top right of the card, and then the rest of the card body is black.
Nice one.

Anyone noticed the slight colour change of the writing? In #10, the 'POK' of 'POKE' is fainter/greyer than the rest, and in #9 'Origin' is fainter apart from the very top of the 'O' and the dots for the 'i's.
I think we can assume this is not a printing inconsistency.
Good catch! I'm guessing one of those partial greyed letters is there, like at the top of this card. How in the world we could figure out what it is, because the background is black, is beyond me. Unless we just wait until we have all the cards and fill in the missing character(s)?
Ahh! Mystery solved, thanks to thebruce's visual. The grayed numbers and partial words in the bottom left corner, that ParityBit first asked about, is the top right quarter of an 'E'!
There's also, apparently, the top left quarter of an 'H' in the bottom right corner of this card.

[SPEC] Trout me if this was already said somewhere but what if KJIC is a cheat code for a game in perplex city?( A recent article in the Sentinel reveal that perplexians do have videogames.) The card doesn't specify that the 'famous' cheats are all from earth games. If this were the case then who would be the best person to ask?

Darn, I was hoping the text (if any) would be readable with a magnifying glass. I have no idea how small they can make text these days though.

I switched between thinking 'that sounds pretty tasty' and 'I wonder if that would work? Perhaps there is some kinda hot garlic invisible ink'.

Also tried cooling/freezing, and cooking up to 220 degrees C. Nothing popped up.

What I haven't tried is anything like ultra violet (as I ain't got that!).

Could this be some of that fabled super tiny text? Can someone with this card look at it under a really powerful magnifying glass or a microscope?

Was brainstorming instead of working today...and came up with these thoughts.
Is there any possible way that KJIC could stand for something in a different langauge, like Japanese? (building on the kick/jump/etc idea)
Or, even though I think it's highly improbable, could KJIC be ROT-15 or ROT-17 for ZYAR or BAZL respectively? (You know, Caesar shifting.)
Maybe for N64, since it had the z trigger button?
But I question myself because none other of the codes were encrypted like that or anything. Hrm.

On the Virgil King Of Codes site there is a gameography and a game called unfinished http://www.virgilkingofcode.com/game2004.html in which there is a screen in which you can imput letters since the photo with the note orignated at E3, as did the card, and the photo was provided by mindcandy. Is there a link here. So far I have tried placing the letters KJIC into the slots at the bottom of the page, to no avail.
